Evan woke up to the sound of knocking on his bedroom door. The door popped open and his 7 year-old daughter came in.
"Daddy wake up!!" the little girl jumped on to the king sized bed and shook her father. Evan surrendered to his hyperactive little girl. Evan got up with a grunt as the girl hopped off the bed and yanked the the curtains open to let some light in to the somewhat dim room. Evan winced at the shinning light pouring throught the window. How? Evan was trying to recall what happened last night after he got home from work.
Evan headed downstairs, he followed a delightful sent to the kitchen to see his wife cooking scrambled eggs and bacon with a side of toast for breakfast. Evan walked up to his wife and kissed her on the cheek "good morning honey," his voice was a bit raspy and low.
"Good morning sweety~. There is coffee already brewed for you in the pot." her voice was sweet and light like always. She reassured him that breakfast would be done in about 4 minutes.
Evan sat down at the table and picked up the newspaper that sat right infront of him. He opened it and read the first page while taking a sip of his coffee. We went to turn the page and seen a caption written in big on the page stating that an officer got killed overnight he paused and set his cup of coffee down on the table. He was shocked to find out a offier got killed and at the when he left his office last night, he read on. "The incident accrued last night at 4:30 am, an officer named Brian Rogers was killed. There is still no sign of wounds on the victim's body. The body was found by a janitor that worked there, the time of the body's discovery was at 6:25. There would be more further investigation for this killer-" before Evan could finish his wife put a plate of food infront of him and called for the daughter for her breakfast.
Evan finished his breakfast and said good bye to his wife and daughter before setting out to work but before he left he looked at the grandfather clock that his father gave him. It was the last thing that he could remember ever since the fire that perished all his childhood memories.
Evan got in his car and drove off to his job to see if the paper was right, if Brian really died.
When he parked infront of the office he got a text message. He opened his phone and read the text, from an unknown person.
"For some I go fast for others I'm slow. To most people, I'm an obsession relying on me is a well practiced lesson. What am I?"
