Alexandria:

The moment she woke up, Alex wished that she hadn't. Today was going to be a horrible day, the absolute worst in a long time. She knew she was going to cry at one point. And why was it so horrible? It was the last day of the semester. It might seem like no big deal, but it was. It was the last day of class with him. She had only known him a few months, but Bryan was her world now and once the semester ended she wouldn't see him at all. This little fact seemed to cut a wide, gaping hole right in her chest, straight to her core.

But she was determined to make the best of the day, so she heaved a sigh, blared her music, and sat down to breakfast. After her scrambled eggs and toast, and her daily argument with her sister, she got in the car and went to school.

The class had come and gone, and Alex knew what she had to do. It had to be today, otherwise she and Bryan would surely drift apart; she couldn't even stand to think of that. So she took a deep, steadying breath to solidify her resolve. But she knew that no matter how many breaths she took she would not stop shaking for at least a day.

Third period was ticking to an end and lunch was rapidly approaching, as was her plan. Bzzzzzzzz!! That was it. No turning back now. She started the long walk down the hallway, down the stairs, and around the corner to the sophomore hallway. It felt like she was walking to her death sentence. A quarter of the way there, halfway there, so close. Then at last she came to his locker. Bryan greeted her with his usual smile, the one that could just make her heart melt. When he saw the look on her face, he shot a warning look at his friends (at which they immediately left) then turned back to her. "Is everything ok?" He asked. She took another deep breath, went on her tip-toes and kissed him. She put everything she had been feeling for the last five months, her entire heart into this kiss, her very first kiss, and prayed it was enough.
