Melody:
"Bloody hell," she cursed under her breath when she saw the time. She was going to be late again! She quickly threw her makeup into a bag, grabbed her books, ignored the breakfast her dad layed out for her, and ran to the car where her mother waited. She made it to the bus stop just in the knick of time, and ran out of the car with her mom calling "Have a good day!" behind her.
She plopped down in the seat next to one of her best friends, Belinda, with a grunt. She started complaining about how her mom was always embaressing her, but one look at Bel told her that she wasn't listening. She was off in her own world again, probably daydreaming about some pink, frilly dress that she wanted. Mel realized she was in a nasty mood today. Shocker. Finally they got to Alex's stop and she would have someone to talk to, but Alex was in her own world too. Feeling annoyed, she turned to look out the window and saw Bel staring at her. "What?" she snapped.
"You're not wearing makeup today," Bel noted. "I like it."
Shoot! She had forgotten all about it, and now rushed to do her makeup on the bouncing, bumpy bus ride. She finished just as the bus pulled up to school. Today must be her lucky day, she thought. She kept finishing everything just in time. Well, there's a bio test today. Let's see how long this lasts.
