"Now, hurry up, we don't have all day to let you dally around London. Don't spend too much, and don't be stupid. You have two hours!" I heard, as I jumped out of the back seat of the Alcott's car, eager to what might await me in this strange new place. The car zoomed away, and I glanced around at the sight in front of me.

A creaky, wooden sign hung from the front entrance of the place, which was a stone building. It seemed to be hastily taken care of, with moss and mud covering a good portion of the building.

With a push of the door, I found myself in a wonderfully terrifying place. There were women in pointy hats and men in large robes, each with a menacing look on their face. I glanced at my paper, then back up to the people in the room. I coughed quietly, and walked to a bar.

"Would you please direct me to Diagon Alley?" I asked, looking at the man in front of me. He replied with a rather rude snort, and led me to a door. I thanked him, and opened it to reveal a street lined with shops of all kinds, sweet smells that drifted from the shops, and patrons of all sizes and ages walking about.

Once again, I glanced down at my sheet, which had the listings of everywhere I needed to visit. First on the list was Gringotts Bank, which I needed to visit in order to exchange my money for currency I could use at these shops. Galleons, I think they were called.

"Isn't it just amazing?" I heard from beside me. I turned my head to see a short girl with nearly white hair and pale skin. I smiled and agreed.

"It is. I've never seen anything like it," I looked around once again.

"My name is Luna, Luna Lovegood. I'm a first year too. Well, I'm assuming that you're a first year. Anyways, what's your name?" the curious looking girl said, a smile playing at her pale lips.

"I'm Austin. Uh, Austin Alcott," I replied, causing her eyes to widen just a bit, for a reason that I could not figure out.

"You're the son of Alicia and Rydan Alcott, right? They were brilliant. Your mother was a brilliant Quidditch player, and your father was nearly top of his class. My father was good friends with the two of them, and he speaks about them all the time. He says it's a shame, what happened to them. Well, it was a pleasure meeting you! I've lost my glasses, and I can't seem to find them..." she said, walking away just as suddenly as she had approached.

I stood there for a second, and then shook my head. She seemed like a nice girl, but I need to get things done. I headed to the Bank, and started off my small journey.

. . . . .

When I went into the marble building, I had been refused when I asked to exchange my money. They commented that 'My parents had left sufficient funds'. I expected a small amount, not hundreds of thousands of Galleons! I happily took the amount needed, and set off and got my robes, which were very nice, and my books, which seemed interesting enough. Next, I would need to stop for a wand.

Ollivander's Wand shop was a simple enough looking building. It was old, and it smelled musty. I walked in, and I was greeted by an ancient looking fellow, about as tall as me with hair much grayer than my Uncle's.

"Austin Alcott, is it? I've been waiting for you for a while! Your parents were some of my favorite customers. He measured my wrist and my arm, then stepped on a ladder, grabbing a wooden stick.

"How about a 15 inch, ash, Unicorn hair core, pliable. Go on, go on, try it!" he says, handing me a long, black wand.

"Give it a wave, my boy!" I slowly twirled it, in a way that I felt comfortable, only to have a write light shoot out and hit the wooden door. Ollivander quickly grabbed it, muttering to himself.

"This might be the one! 13 inches, spruce, Phoenix core, stiff. Let's see!" he exclaims, pushing it into my palm. This time around, when I twirled the wand, it emitted a yellow light that filled the air with beautiful lights for a few moments.

"Ah, yes. Just like your father's. You're wand tells a lot about you. This is a very powerful wand, and if used correctly can produce powerful spells. Your parents would be proud!" He commented, making my heart nearly burst with pride and hope for the future.

I thanked the man and walked out of the shop, towards my last stop. The pet emporium! I had decided quite a while ago that I wanted an owl, as they seemed to be the most fitting for me. I felt as if I could connect with them.

I entered the shop and glanced around a bit, until my eyes met those of a beautiful creature's. It was a magnificent Great Horned Owl, with piercing green eyes and feathers the color of snow. I thought back to the girl I had met earlier, and the name clicked. Luna. I took her to the front, and paid for herself and the supplies needed for her upkeep.

This had been the best day of my life.

So, I decided to update this story twice in a day, but this usually won't happen. I will probably go for posting every other day or at least 3 times a week.
I am quite a procrastinator, though, so I should apologize in advance for any mess ups :/
Nonetheless, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, as I loved writing it!
