I woke up to Will punching me in the shoulder.
"Wake up you stupid... Dalek!" He said in mock hate.
"Ugghhh no you..you...Draco."
"Really, that's the best insult you could come up with?" Will is just into mocking me today. I finally undo my seat belt and stand up. He's been sweet enough to wait until the plane's landed to wake me up. I yawn and climb out of the seat. Will hands me my bag and we exit the plane.
"Well, where do we go?" There was no one waiting for us here.
"to our apartme-Flats!" says Will, happy that he remember a tiny amount of the British slang.
" God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble queen!" I join into his silly singing. As we walk through the airport we talk and talk about the journey we had ahead of us. We walk up to a security guard to ask about public transportation.
" Hello- we were wondering if you could direct us to the underground?"
"Newly-wed Americans. Of Course."
" Um, we aren't married, we aren't even dating- that would be weird."
" Yeah so weird-" Will chimes in.
Would it really be that weird?
Yes- of course it would Jane, don't worry yourself.
Will and I carry our bags along the hallway to the underground. We talked about our excitement, We'd never even left the country before! We climb onto the train, after going through security. We each had a suitcase and a carry-on bag. Nothing more to start a new life. We had separate flats, and they were both mostly furnished, so hopefully we'd be alright. But we both knew we were going to spend more time together in a flat than apart. We'd brought only our most prized possessions, our laptops. Mine had a lid that was covered in stickers, Everything from a tardis to DFTBA. We get off the the tube and climb up to street level.
"Ok, just gonna google our addresses." Will says, fumbling for his phone. "You didn't think of that earlier?" I ask, preoccupied getting my phone out to text Will and I's mothers that we had made it safely. Will had known me for a very long time, back when I was a short haired, chubby-cheeked baby. He claims to remember those days, but we both know he's an awful lair.
"It's this way." Will says, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Okay." I reply
"Okay."
"Okay"
" Ugghh, Jane, stop flirting with me!"
We both laugh at his quote from one of my all- time favorite books, The Fault In Our Stars. He grabs my hand and I try to ignore it, but all I'm thinking is Oh my gods, oh my gods.
We walk further and further until we reach our apartments, 222 a&b Baker street.
