"I can't do this. I can't promise that I won't hurt you."I say.
"But-"she says.
"I'm scared that I'm gonna hurt you and I don't want that to happen."I say, cutting her off.
She sits down, taking this in. "I'll wait for you. Whatever it takes, try to come back to me."she says.
"I can't promise that. Just please-please no promises."I say, closing my eyes. I know I'm probably hurting her so bad.

Lia's view
I walk into the small cafe that I work at and get my apron on that I'm forced to wear at work. I live in a small town called Leipers Fork, a couple hundred miles from Nashville, TN.
We barely even need any restaurants. The population is only 1000 people. But sometimes we have tourists because our town is so historic.
The owner of this little cafe (named Kate) asks,"Hey, Lia, can you do the register today?"
I nod,"Sure."
"Also can you put the sign on open?"she asks.
I walk over to the sign and put on open. I then walk behind the counter and sit down on the stool meant for the cashier... which is me.
A couple hours later and a guy with sunglasses and a hat comes in.
"Hello, what would you like today?"I ask.
He starts to take off his sunglasses and hat. That's when I realize who he is.
"SHAWN MENDES?!"I scream.
"Yeah."he says.
"I'm confused. Why are you in my little town? Aren't you on tour?"I ask.
"No actually my tour starts in a few months. I'm just visiting my aunt for a couple weeks."
"Oh ok. So what would you like to eat?"I ask.
" Um maybe just a cheeseburger and some fries."he says.
"Ok... anything else? The vanilla milkshake is to kill for."I say.
"Ok I'll take a vanilla milkshake I guess."he says.
I laugh,"Ok, I promise that I'm not lying. If you don't think it's good enough, I'll pay you for it."
"Ok."he says, smiling.
I make the milkshake and hand it to him after making the burger and fries.
"Go on, try it."I say, sure that I'm gonna win.
"Ok, you don't have to rush me."he says before taking a sip.
For a second, it looks like he's amazed, but then he shrugs and says,"I've had better."
I lost? Ugh.
