Third person POV
Phil began his short journey to his piano teachers house as the sun began to set on the straight standing trees.
By the time he arrived it was almost dark and getting colder by the second. Three knocks and Ms. Deb opened the door.
"You're late," she snapped with anger.
"My apologies, I got stopped at the light down the street," Phil tried to explain. She let him in and Phil walked to the grand piano in the farther back room.
The lesson went quickly like usual.
Then the brown haired boy walked in.
Phil ran to him, clinging to his body and embracing his fragile frame.
"GET OFF OF ME YOU FREAK!" Dan yelled pushing Phil off of him and on to the ground.
"Dan?" tears gathering in Phil's eyes as he looked up at the boy from his current position on the ground.
"How do you know my name?" Dan asked confused with the whole situation.
"Don't you remember me?" Phil pleaded his eyes wide, longingly staring at Dan.
"No."
With that one word Phil was out of the door forgetting his books and phone at Ms. Deb's house. He ran home, arriving there and running up to his now gloomy room.
How could Dan forget? I always knew he would. There was never a doubt about it.
Every question Phil asked his brain answered it with what seemed to be the correct answer. The question and answer sequence continued until the sharp blade was in Phil's weak grasp. Two long and deep cuts, one on each arm. The release never stopped. It felt right to Phil. So he didn't stop. He vision blurred, he stopped thinking and his hearing became muffled.
The door swung open but he was too far gone to realize who it was. It was too late for Phil.
++++
Dan ran into Phil's room to find him on the ground. Dead. Gone. His brain stopped.
"I REMEMBER!" he chanted hoping it would bring Phil back as he kissed his now cold and lifeless lips. Over and over. "I REMEMBER! I LOVE YOU PHIL! WAKE UP FOR ME!" There was no movement from the body that was previously the one that got away.
Tears overflowed Dan's eyes as his sobs rang through Phil's house, though no one was home. He knew no one would care, no one but him. Dan got up and left the room. He walked to the side of the river bridge and watched the water rush below it. Before he jumped. The air flowed against his body as he briefly flew. His body then rag-dolled into the raged waters below, never to be seen again.
