Brunch

You stretch out your arms and release a yawn.  Wishing you could go back to sleep, you roll onto your side and glance at the clock as it reads 8:30...8:30!  Shoot, you overslept by 2 hours!  You immediately jump out of bed!  Your boyfriend Eddie was supposed to be there at 9:30 and you had a brunch to make!  His parents are coming at 10:00 to join the 2 of you!

You run out of your room and immediately get in the shower.  You get out, put on your robe, and head to the kitchen.  8:40.  You pull out the cookbooks.  You told them you would make your grandmas recipe for a breakfast style sausage pot pie, a recipe that takes 30 minutes to bake.  You still have time.  You hurry up and prepare it, then stick it in the oven...okay now...CLOTHES!  9:00.

You sprint to your bedroom and throw open your closet.  "I knew I should have picked something out last night!"  You try on 4 different outfits before deciding the black dress with your white heels looks the most elegant for the day.  This is your first time meeting Eddie's parents and you would like to look respectable for the occasion.  You run into the bathroom.  9:15.

You apply your makeup.  You decide to go with a natural look.  For one, it looks simple but nice, plus you don't have time to worry about perfectly winged eyeliner.  You throw your hair into the same updo you wore for your senior prom and push what seems like a hundred bobby-pins in hoping it'll stay.  9:30.  You take off toward the kitchen.

As you start to open the oven you hear the doorbell.  He's early!!  "It's open," you yell toward the door.

Eddie walks in through the door looking around for you.  "Y/N?  Where are you?"

"NO!!"  He hears you start to cry in the kitchen.

"Y/N!"  He runs to find you sitting on the kitchen floor, mascara running down your face, and a completely unbaked pot pie in your lap.  "What bloody happened?"

"I'm an idiot," you throw the pie off your lap and bring your knees to your head and begin to cry again.  After a second you pause in your tears to tell him what you did.  "I forgot to turn the oven on..."

He can't hold back his laughter and you glare at him with all the anger you can muster.  His face gets serious and he squats down next to you.  "Y/N...you are going to go upstairs and clean yourself up.  I will clean up the mess you just made of this innocent pie.  Then you will come back down and we will start over.  My parents are fine people, so they can wait for brunch.  I swear to you, if they so much as mention the delay, I shall never speak to them again," he smirks at the end and you can't help but feel a little silly.

He picks you up off the ground and sends you on your way to the restroom.  You arrive back a few minutes later to find him rolling out the crust.  You walk over, put a hand on his shoulder, and he turns to face you.  He looks you up and down, "Don't we look lovely," he bites his bottom lip and raises an eyebrow.  You let out a giggle before leaning in to press your lips to his.  As you continue to press into him, he drops the roller and places his flour covered hands on your hips anyway.  He pulls away for a second, a smile appearing on his face, looks into your eyes, and says in a voice just above a whisper, "maybe I should call them and cancel."  You laugh and pull him in for another kiss.
