"Are you sure you're ready, Yūri?" Viktor asked for the millionth time.
"Of course I am, Viktor! I wouldn't be here if I wasn't ready!" Yūri stated with determination clear in his eyes.
Side by side, the pair walked towards the rink. Today was the day that Viktor got back on the ice, but not to reclaim his record, but to skate with his fiancé, Yūri. Viktor didn't mind that Yuri had beaten his record, in fact, he was ecstatic that it was a program he'd created. Yūri, misunderstanding the look Viktor was giving whilst Yuri recieved his score, had seen Viktor skate before, and he knew that he could beat Yuri easily. So what did he do? He signed Viktor and himself up for the world-wide dual skating championship.
"I guess it's lucky that you had learnt my free skate program, huh?" Viktor smiled at Yūri, not noticing the loud cheers coming from the crowd. The grey-haired skater grabbed Yūri's hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "I've never seen anyone else skate it so perfectly." He told him truthfully, looking directly into his eyes.
"Oi!" A loud voice shouted across the pathway by the rink. Turning their heads, they saw Yuri. His hands were deep in his pockets, and his hood was as high as Lau and Ran-Mao every morning. "Why didn't you tell me that you're here to reclaim your record!? I'll go easy on you, if you want." Yuri smirked. Suddenly, a large hand smacked him lightly on the back of the head.
"Don't be rude." A low, quiet voice sounded. Yuri rubbed his head and glared at his skating partner. Scoffing, he turned away and walked back to Yakov, Otabek following close behind.
Viktor exhaled in satisfaction. "I'm glad he has someone to tell him off without being attacked every time."
"All skaters to the rink, please." A female voice came from the loudspeakers.
"Come on." Yūri muttered, placing his skate guards to the side and sliding onto the ice. Viktor smiled and did the same.
As he stepped onto the ice, the crowd began to go wild. They had only just realised that Viktor himself was skating. Bouquets were already landing on the rink, and teddybears were just piling at his feet. He just smiled and waved, enjoying the evergreen affection from his fans.
"It's so good to be back..." He whispered, cracking his knuckles. Viktor joined Yūri at his side and stretched. A few members of the crowd began to awe at them. Viktor looked over his partner and grinned. "Thank you."
"Huh? For what?" Yūri asked, confused at the sudden phrase.
He took a moment, as if deciding on exactly what it was that he was thanking him for. Was it for his endless worrying and the kind thoughts? Was it the fact that he was everything to him? Or maybe he just felt like he needed to say something without embarrassing his darling in front of everyone. "For everything." Viktor finally replied. Turning on his toes, he skated off elegantly and joined a conversation with Christophe.
"KAAAATSUUUUKIIII-KUUUUN!" An excited squeal startled Yūri out of his happy thoughts. "KAAA-" All that was seen was a red streak, and then the ceiling, accompanied by a painful sounding thud.
"Ahh! I'm so sorry!" Minami apologised, rolling off Yūri and standing back up. Holding out a gloved hand, he pulled his idol to his feet. "I-It's just that I wanted you to meet my skating partner. He's just over there!"
"Oh, he look's cool. The one with copper hair and amber eyes, right?" Yūri confirmed, looking over at the group Viktor was currently socialising with. In the group was Viktor, Christophe, Michele, Emil, and Minami's mysterious partner. "What's his name?"
"Maximus Clarke! He's from London. Cool, right?!" (Ghost:Hunter character by 10thBlackPoison ) Minami smiled brightly. "Although, I really hoped I'd get to be with you... But being with Viktor is amazing! Well done!" Minami hugged him tightly.
"Th-thank you, Minami. Good luck." He waved as the teenager practically skipped on his skates to Max. Yūri began to skate around the rink, turning and jumping every now and then to warm up his muscles. Every time he'd go around, he'd slow down a little just so he could see Yuri and Otabek. All they were doing was talking, but after a while they began to stretch. Michele was trying to convince Sala to stay in the kiss and cry, Christophe was touching Max's ass, Max was skating to the other side of the group with Viktor, and he, well, hadn't warmed up at all.
Yūri sighed. "Viktor!" He waved his hand and called his partner's name. The blue-eyed skater turned and waved back, joining his side once again. Yūri smiled a bit. "The warm-up's almost finished. Don't you think you should be... warming up?"
"Only if you help me!" Viktor beamed, grabbing both of Yūri's hands and spinning around. Letting go of one, they began to skate hand in hand around the rink, earning 'aw's from the audience, an 'ew' from Yuri, and a blush from Yūri.
"V-Viktor, maybe we shouldn't be holding hands." Yūri stuttered, looking down at his feet.
"Oh... why not?" Viktor slowly let go.
Yūri looked up again. "It's embarrassing... and I think it might ruin everyone's image of you." He explained. "I mean, there are girls out there who, as much as I don't want to say it, only like you for your looks, and hate me for being with you."
There was silence as he quietened down. "So~ You think people will think differently of me because I am completely and utterly gay for you?"
Yūri turned red and fanned his face to prevent any explosions. "N-N-N-NO! I didn't mean it like tha-"
Before Yūri even had time to finish, Viktor had disappeared. He had gone to the edge of the rink and put on his skate guards, running up to the crowd walls and calling to a lady.
"Excuse me!"
The old lady readjusted her glasses. "Oh my-!" She gasped.
"Do you think differently of me because I'm gay?" He asked bluntly. Yūri froze and facepalmed.
She chuckled. "I've always known you were gay, Mr. Nikiforov." She smiled and sat back down comfortably in her chair.
"Okay, thank you!" He smiled with his eyes closed before moving on to the next person.
"Excuse me! I'm gay!"
"Ooh, good for you! It better be that Katsuki-guy you're after!"
"Really? Cool!"
"Wow, me too!"
"Tch. Your sexuality is none of my business."
"Well done! Go get those men! Ooh, try Christophe. He's sooooo hot!"
"Mother!"
"Thank you!" Viktor yelled happily. After finishing going around the whole crowd, he returned to his fiancé. "No-one seems to mind. Now then, what where you saying?" He asked as he held his hand and began skating again.
