The beginning of your story should start off with an amazing start which immediately pulls the reader in, wanting to read more.

There are many ways to start your story.

One way is to use action-
You could start off with a fight, a character running, swimming etc.

Here's an example of using action..

Using his forepaws to hold all his weight, the brown tabby kicked out his back legs, shocking and stunning his opponent.

I know this example isn't that good but I'm sure you might understand the main concept.

Another way to begin your story is to use dialogue-
You could start off with two characters arguing, yelling, talking to another etc.

Here's an example of dialogue...

"How could you!?" Screamed the black she-cat, "He was my only kit!!"

"It wasn't my fault!" Yelled the tabby tom.

Hopefully you understand what I meant.

Another way to start your story could be with description-
You could describe the setting in which your characters are in, the place in which the character is in right now, describe the land your character resides in etc.

Here's an example...

As the sun set in the fading sky, bursts of orange and pink floated gently across the sky.

The lake always had many beautiful sun sets and sun rises; the sun's fading rays hitting and reflecting off the lake's smooth surface.

If there are any mistakes, please do not hesitate to let us know in the comments!

We'll try our best to fix any errors you and I may come across while editing these parts.

I hope this may have helped you in some way if you were stuck on how to start your book.
