Lee Adams has always lived on his own. Ever since the day he was born, he was on his own. Lee was put up for adoption when he was just a few months old. He was never adopted or anything, so he was ran out of the foster homes. Lee is now 18 years old living in some small town in California. Lee lives in a studio apartment by himself, no roommates and no parents all by himself.
Lee not only lives by himself, he also doesn't get many visitors, so when he unlocked the door to his apartment he was shocked to see both a man and women sitting on his couch. 'How did they even get in here; my door was locked so they couldn't have just waltz in here' Lee thought to himself. Lee stood at the door for a few seconds wondering what he should do. He finally got the courage to walk over to the man and the woman. "Um" Lee was a loss for words so he just spit it out "Who are you and why are you in my house?" They both just stared at Lee not knowing what to say. The three of them stood in the living room of Lee's apartment just staring at each other for a good 15 minutes not knowing what to say.
The man finally spoke "Well my name is Blake Adams and this is my wife Lily Adams and we believe that you are possibly our son." The so called Blake Adams otherwise known as my so called father had the biggest smile on his face along with his wife. But Lee just stared at them but this was a different kind of stare, Lee had a look of utter confusion on his face, he had thoughts of why are my parents here after all this time, why did they give me up in the first place, do they really love me? "Why do you think I'm your son?" Lee broke the silence. Both Blake and Lily look at each other and then back at Lee. "Well we don't know for sure, but we have a pretty good idea, would you mind taking this DNA test just to be sure?" Lily asked with a smile plastered on her face knowing she would get her way.
"I'll take the test, but what would happen if I am your son I can't ju-" Lee started but was cut off. "I understand what's going through your head if it comes back positive all we ask is to get to know you, not for you to move in with us" Blake cut Lee off. Lee just nodded not knowing if this was a good or bad thing. The DNA test came back to be positive, Lee was at a loss for words he knew his parents were going to be part of his life. Both Blake and Lily were oh so happy, they got their son back after all this time.
Blake and Lily have been apart of Lee's life for a few weeks now and so far, so good. But this one question has been bugging Lee since they first got here, he just never had the nerve to ask it. The three of them were currently playing monopoly on Lee's living room floor, "Why did you put me up for adoption?" Both Blake and Lily stared at Lee questioning how to approach this topic. "Well" Lily's soft voice filled the room " My mother gave me two choices when I told her I was pregnant, either I move out or put my baby up for adoption." Lee just nodded as telling her to continue. "You have to remember we were only 18 years old, just got out of highschool" Blake filled in. "I didn't want to be living out on the streets as a teen mom so I put you up for adoption even though it killed me so much." Lily finished speaking and was soon met by a crying Lee. From this day forward the three of them have been closer than ever.
