Chapter 3: Brand New Beginning

Ai's Point of View

After yesterday's events, I began to wondered on how to bring her smile back, the smile that she had shown me years ago. I really preferred her smiling, and not being gloomy. So I decided to ask for Reiji's help. Did I ever mentioned that he can sometimes be an idiot and sometimes really smart. I now am going to pay a visit to that idiot's/ genius's room for consultation. 'knock!! Knock!!'. "Come on in!", that idiot announced. As I entered his room, he was lying down his bed lazily. "Oh, Ai Ai! What brings you here to my room?", he questioned. "Where are our juniors?", I asked him, not planning on telling him my actual reason of coming here. "Oh, they went out for a meeting. Most probably, back by evening. But Ai Ai, you should had known about it. Unless, you came for another reason~", he got up and leaned closer to me, giving a mischievous glint in his eyes as winked. "Okay, fine you got me.", I said calmly and not a worried tone to signal distressation. "What's wrong, Ai Ai?", he asked worriedly, seemingly taking note of my clueless, distressed and concerning glint in my eyes. I placed a hand against my forhead, sighing. "Reiji, what does Karin likes to do during her past time or what's her favorite past time?", I sighed, asking.

He thought deeply, before going his serious mode. "Hmm, if I remember.. She likes taking a walk at parks to relax.", he said. 'Walks at parks.. Hmm..', I thought to myself. "Is there a specific park that she likes?", I asked further. "Hmm, there is one. 'Shinjuku Gyoen', it's one of the famous park in Japan.", he answered but after awhile he began spacing out. After he had snapped to reality, he began mumbling to himself before going back to his childish mode and looked back at me, grinning like idiots always do. "What?", I questioned. "Had Ai Ai taken a liking to my beautiful childhood friend~?", he began fanboying about the future, about his little juniors. I smacked him on the head, pissed off at his actions. "I just care for her. Especially, after hearing about her past, her sufferings. I just wanted her to smile again.", I said looking out the window, into the sky before smiling, one of my rarest smile. "Ai Ai, I'm so proud of you. You had grown up so much within one day!", he started his fake crying, this time was tears of joy. I just left the room, without even bothering about him. "But thanks, Reiji.", I whispered.

Kotobuki Reiji's Point of View

"Ai Ai, Rin chan.. He still didn't admit that he liked her. Well, let's hope that they would get together. Good luck, the both of you.", I said before laziy lying back on my bed.

Ai's Point of View

I was circling around my room, trying to think of what to do or say before asking Karin to take a stroll with me. Finally, I gave up on thinking. According to my data, thinking too much is pointless, unless you take action. I went out of my room and walk towards Karin's room which was near mine. 'knock!! Knock!!'. I heard footsteps lightly tapping on the floor before the door nob turned open. "Is there something you need, Ai?", she asked. "Are you free at the moment? Would you like to join me for an afternoon stroll at a park?", I asked. Her multi-coloured eye widened for a second, and then she nodded with a smile.

At Shinjuku Gyoen

The both of us took a quiet stroll along the trails of the park, taking in the beautiful scenery that Mother Nature had given us. "How are you holding up?", I decided to break the awkward silence between the two of us. "I'm doing fine, just trying not think to much about it.", she said as she nervously twirled strands of her hair around her fingers. "Enough about me. What about you? We didn't get to talk about yours yesterday.", she asked. "I enjoyed staying here at the master course. Though, Reiji could be an idiot and annoying at times but otherwise everything was all good.", I told her. "That's nice. You got to spent time with people that you liked being with. Though I have to admit, Reiji is still the same as always. Annoying and being an idiot as always.", the two of giggled/ laughed at our statements. "You know, you look better with a smile.", I commented. "T-thank you..", she stammered as red started to tint both of her cheeks. She avoided my eyes, for a moment, after calming down, she looked back at me smiling. "How did you know about this park, it's my most favorite park?", she questioned out of the blue. 'Oh no...', I thought to myself as I gulped. "Well, I checked that this park is quite famous.", I tried being franked with her but decided not to, so she wouldn't sensed my nervousness from the question. "Oh, really? I don't believe you.", she joked. "So you know that you can be annoying at times.", I said. Then, she gave me her most cutest puppy dog eyes. "You got me. I asked Reiji about it. Actually,  I wanted to encourage you to start anew. Continue to pursue your dreams as an idol. And maybe one day, we get to compete or sing a duet with eachother.", I told her. "I-i will try.. Thank you."...
