Maui and Moana were at a meeting to discuss important matters, but after a hour and a half had passed, well... let's just say they got a little stultified.

"Why did I offer to go with you?" Maui groaned.

Moana leaned her head against her knees.

"True friendship," she replied, smiling a little. "We're both going through this... uh, torture?"

"You can definitely say that again."

Chief Tui, who was standing at the front, kept droning on and on about stuff. But the teen just listened without hearing. (Ever been there?)

Moana looked over at Maui. He had shape-shifted into a dog.

"Maui!" she hissed. "Not now! You're- scratch that-we are going to get in trouble if Dad sees you goofing around!"

"I'm not trying to goof around. I'm just trying to get a decent nap."

With that, Maui flopped over and dozed off.

Moana held back a yawn. Now the teen wished she could turn into different animals.

After a few minutes had passed, Moana looked over to the sleeping demidog. He actually looked a little cute. Like Pua.

She hesitated, then she slowly reached out to scratch his ear. Maui stirred, and Moana sharply drew her hand back.

Maui opened one eye and said, "Don't you dare try to pet me."

Moana lifted an eyebrow, a small smirk on her face.

"Really? Okay then," she said innocently.

The demigod went back to sleep just as Tui ended the meeting. Moana then scratching Maui's furry head. He woke up at once.

"Hey! Not my head!" he barked.

"Who's a good demigod? You're a good boy, aren't you?" cooed the teen.

"Ahh! STAP! Moana! Please!" Maui laughed, struggling to get away from the dark-haired girl.

Finally, he turned back into his human form. He sat down, his hair ruffled.

"Note to self," he said, slightly glaring at Moana, "NEVER turn into a dog around Curly."

"You're welcome!" winked the teen.

This idea was just kinda floating around in my head. So, I decided to turn it into a one-shot...
