"Alexa, you're five centimeters dialated, sweetheart." Alexa groans at the midwife's words. She doesn't like that information very much. She's been having contraction pains for nearly seven hours. Alexa is just about ready to ask for an epidural.

Alexa turns to her husband for relief. Grayson helps her sit up, a hand on her back to aid her in leaning against him. He's beyond excited to meet his first child, boy or girl has no impact on his excitement. Grayson has never been more eager for anything, other than Alexa herself.

"Half way there," Grayson beams down at his scowling wife. "We'll have a baby soon."

"Hopefully."

"Two more centimeters to go!" A sudden, very strong contraction hits Alexa like a train. She cries out at the sudden wave of excruciating pain. The nurse seems to panic for a moment before checking Alexa again. "It seems the baby has a plan for itself. You have to start pushing now."

Everything is set into motion. The doctor shuffles in, pulls on a pair of gloves, and gets into his position between Alexa's legs. On any other day she'd be blushing bashfully and attempt to close her legs. But the only thing on her mind is getting her first born out of her body. Her fingers intertwine with Grayson's; their love flowing between them giving Alexa the energy to expell their declaration of love-- their baby.

Grayson sweats just as much as Alexa, the realization of his paternalhood hits him like a four by four. Watching his lovely wife struggle to push their child out he can't help but sweat bullets. Life with just the two of them has been complete bliss, adding another person could disrupt their happiness as a couple. Suddenly he's petrified. As his hand holds Alexa's and his heart beats three times as hard, he wants to rewind in time to their wedding night. Maybe discuss things in further detail.

But all those negative thoughts wash away once the first cry of their baby girl hits his ears.

Alexa's world stops. She can't remember how it felt the moment the baby girl left her body. Relief, maybe? Her legs relaxed for a moment as Grayson cut the umbilical cord and the bloody baby was placed on the new mother's chest. Her eyes gloss over at the sight of her daughter. Alexa sits up, holding the baby out so she can look for her mark-- her destiny.

There on the bottom of her left pinkie toe lays a small pink rose.

"W-What does that mean?" Grayson croaks at the smiling nurse who takes the baby to clean her up. "What's the pink rose mean?"

"Your daughter has been blessed with a mark almost as beautiful as her mother's. Pink rose symbolises sweetness. You're daughter is going to be the sweetest girl in this town."

Alexa feels hot tears rush down her face. Her little girl is sweetness. Her and Grayson's hands reintertwine as the little girl is bathed.

"What should we name her?" Alexa quizzes her husband.

"Something beautiful, like Aleena. Feminine and gorgeous," he pauses to look down at his wife. Alexa is sweaty, hair sticking to her forehead and a thin shine to her milky skin, and her eyes are a little dazed, but Grayson has never seen anything more mesmerizing, "like her mother." He swoops down to press his lips against his dollface's.

The two stay in a heated kiss, until the baby in the room decides to make herself known. Grayson gets the girl this time. He's in complete disbelief. After years of wanting a child of his own he finally has one, half him and half Alexa. Perfection.

"Aleena Ryker. Cute." Alexa giggles as her husband blows raspberries on their little bundle of joy's very chubby cheeks. In response the couple get a few gurgles and saliva bubbles. "What a happy baby she is!"

Grayson allows his child to wrap a hand around his finger. His heart melts at her fluttering eyelashes and pink lips almost hidden under her very round, chubby cheeks. He's never seen a more beautiful shade of green-brown eyes on a child. He's completely smitten and its been ten minutes. "The happiest baby alive, Dollface. Our little, happy baby."

Aleena is passed to her mother so Grayson can invite the waiting family to meet her. Without a second thought Alexa leans back into her hospital bed and watches her newborn fall asleep on her chest. Valentina, Timothy, Josephine, and Kenneth follow after Grayson. They gaze lovingly down at the sleeping baby, cooing over her marshmallow body and little blonde hairs for a solid fifteen minutes.

One by one Grayson's and Alexa's siblings come in, congratulating the couple, to set down presents and give the baby a kiss. The two can feel the love their family radiates for the newest member.

Life wouldn't be the same without it.
