I woke up to feel the warm breath of Shiko creeping over me. I felt a cool breeze gust from under the door crack so I snuggled closer to him. I loved him, but did I deserve his love back? I felt so free when being enclosed beneath his arms. I heard a crash louder then a vase being dropped carelessly upon the floor. It was the sound of a window being cracked.I sat up and ran into Brody's room. Nothing he was still sound asleep. I turned back around to see Shiko in the doorway. "Are you okay? What's wrong?" He asked curiously.
"Oh I am fine thanks, just thought I heard something that's all."
"Oh okay, Are you hungry?"
"Yeah, wait you can get food here?"
"Yeah but it is only what the Game master's supply me for the week."
"Game masters?"
"Yeah. I will explain later."
"Okay."
We walked slowly into the kitchen, making no sounds along the way. "So what do we do next with in the game?" I asked.
"I don't know, You just kind of play until the game feels satisfied that you have left with enough suffering."
"Wait. I didn't suffer that much last time though?"
"Yes. But you escaped. That's why you're here now. To pay your respects upon the game, and unfortunately you brought your friend into this too."
I sat there thinking about his last point, He was right I had drug Brody into this and I needed to get him out. Shiko placed a cup of coffee in front of me. "Thanks." I said.
"Yeah, no problem. I am going to go and wake up Brody okay?"
I nodded. As I waited, I thought. I thought about what Shiko said to me yesterday. I thought about how I drug Brody into this mess. I thought about the next clue and if I was ever going to find it. I thought.
Both of the boys came back into the kitchen. Brody seemed more alive then I have ever seen him. Shiko, well was really dreamy. "Okay, We will be leaving in 20 minutes to head to the palace." Said Shiko.
"The palace?" I asked confused.
"Yes, where the game masters live."
I went back to drinking my coffee so I wouldn't waste any of Shiko's precious supply of food. I didn't want to waste any water; Nothing.
~20 minutes later~
"Okay it's about time are you ready?" Shiko asked.
"Yeah, let's go," said Brody.
I agreed and we made our way out the door. We walked for about three hours before I finally asked to take a break. Brody decided at this time he wanted to go and explore. Shiko decided to stay with me. I felt horrible, for everything I had done. I couldn't get it out of my mind that I was such a horrible person. My heart began to pound, my head began to spin, my eyes began to water.
"Hey, are you doing okay?" Shiko asked; frightened.
"Umm I am not feeling so good but its okay I am fine."
Shiko, worried, walked over by the rock I had been sitting on in advance and sat upon the dirt below. "What's wrong?" He asked not giving up. I mean Shiko always needed answers before continuing on to the next step. It was just his personality. I wish I were more like him.
"Oh nothing really, I mean, I guess I am just really angry with myself for bringing Brody into this terrible mess. I left you. I mean I am just a terrible person in general."
