Changing his ways

Chapter 21

This morning I woke up it was Saturday,luckily I did all my homework on Thursday so I was a free woman.

I was walking through the halls and noticed that no one was home.

I walked into Carlos's room and nothing, the same for Lilly and Alice which was Carlos's mom.

I walked to the kitchen and noticed a yellow sticky note on the fridge...

    Lynda we are out to the doctor for their checkup -Alice xoxo

 I laughed to myself thinking of the fact that Carlos had to get a check up with his mom, I would go by myself to check ups not with my mom that's embarrassing.

I grabbed a bagel and put it in the toaster, grabbed some cream cheese and a glass of orange juice. 

I sat on top of the counter waiting for my bagel and thinking about how my life has changed so much,my parents died and I was living with Carlos Gonzalez who I had mixed feelings for, sometimes I hated him sometimes I wanted him or just that I don't even want him near me. You cant blame me for mixed feelings he was giving me mixed signals sometimes it'll look like he wants me and loves me and the next thing I know he is with Daniela *BING*.

"oww" I grunted rubbing my noise, that toaster gave me a heart attack and made me face plant the floor.

At least orange juice didn't spill and I didn't get a nose bleed.

I took the bagel and spread the cream cheese on it and then taking a bite out of the crispy deliciousness, I moaned of how good it tasted or maybe it was because I was starving...or both.

I heard the doorbell ring and got curious.

"who must that be, Alice has her own key" I said to myself confused "great now I'm talking to myself" I spoke to myself again opening the door again.

"hello Lynda" a brunette middle aged woman greeted "may I come in?" "oh yes you may" I smiled closing the door behind her and walking into the living room taking a seat.

this woman had pale skin,grey eyes, her brown hair in a pony tail but was kind of chubby "why are you here?, who are you?" I asked "I'm Mrs. Ferguson, but you can call me Sarah".

"okay and why are you here?" I questioned "I'm here to tell you that the man and woman that killed your parents we found them in an alley and they are being put in jail, I know your wondering what their names are and its Jessica Garfield and John Garfield" she explained.

"and why are you telling me this"

"because maybe you can go visit them"

"visit the people that killed my parents"

"don't look at it that way you'll just visit them and find out why they killed your parents and maybe other secrets, I would tell you myself but I want you to go youself and find out" she told me standing from her seat.

" I have to get going now but here's my card so you can contact me for when you want to plan a visit Ms. Torres and have a nice day" she gave me her card and left.

God what a morning I just wanted to have a nice day but now I have to think about whether or not wanting to visit those people. Maybe I should go and find out why they killed my parents and that's what I'm going to do.

I decided to call Sarah and made the appointment tomorrow at 3.

after that was clear I went upstairs took a shower and changed into shorts and a plain white t-shirt.

I laid on my bed listening to music on my Iphone that Alice got for me as a house warming gift, I didn't want accept it I was fine with my old phone but she insisted.

I felt movement around the house so I got up and checked  what was going on. I know who would go and check if someone was in the house I should be hiding in my closet but I needed to check if the owners of this house finally arrived. I peeked into Carlos's room and saw him laying down starring at the wall.

go check on him

no keep your distance

he looks worried

no don't go.

my conscience were having an argument about Carlos but I decided to not check on him I should keep my distance before I end up hurt again.

I walked downstairs and found Lilly watching tv, I smiled thinking of how adorable she is with her curls and blue eyes "hey" I grinned sitting next to her "hi Lynda" "what's up?".

"nothing mommy and Carlos seem sad about something and I don't know what it is ever since we left the doctor they wouldn't tell me what the doctor said and I'm scared" she said in her puppy dog face, but she looked a little pale but I let it slide off maybe she just hasn't eaten.

"wait here" I ordered walking into the kitchen to where alice was. "hey Alice" I smiled, she turned around wiping her tears, her eyes were red and puffy from all the crying.

"oh my gosh Alice" I gasped taking her into my arms and hugging her tightly.

"I'm fine" "NO what happened to make you cry tell me please" I begged.

she looked into my eyes and told me "Lillian has cancer"

my heart stopped...I must be in a nightmare.
