Sophia's POV

I lazily got out of bed as soon as I set my alarm off, after getting used to France's time zone it has been a struggle to wake up and go to sleep now that i'm back in the US. The only positive thing about school today is that i'll finally get to see my girl friends, god I miss them so much!

I went to the bathroom to do all my duties, when I was done, I went downstairs where my sister, step mother and father were taking breakfast.

"Having breakfast without me?" I pouted sitting down next to my lovely father.

"You take too long in the shower", My sister shrugged and I gave her the middle finger.

"Shut up Scarlett"

...

I parked my black range rover in one of the empty spots, well obviously, and climbed off it. My sister got out of the car as well and left to see her friends. Scarlett and I don't usually see each other that much during school time, she is a senior while i'm a junior and her schedule is very different from mine. I was walking through the corridors when I was embraced in a group hug.

"OMG SOPH, WE MISSED YOU!" My three best friends screamed, which made me smile.

"I missed you guys too", I giggled as we break up the group hug. Cora, Grace and Siobhan have been my friends since I can remember and I love them to death.

"Sooo, guess what? I talked to my father so we could have the same schedule", Grace said super excited. Her father is the school's principal so she obviously has a lot of advantages over other students.

Most students here are rich and were born with a silver spoon in their mouths. The only few ones who aren't bathing in bills are the ones with a scholarship and those are usually bullied by the queen B's: Brianna, Barbara and Bianca.

"Soph?" Someone asked behind me, I didn't have to turn around to know who it was. Liam. My ex.

I broke up with him when my father told me I had to leave because we were in some kind of 'danger'. My father worked for the Interpol and he had a lot of enemies who would love to hurt us just to see him suffering, at the time my step-mother, Elizabeth, had been in a car accident and my father thought it was intentional so he decided it was the best for us to leave the states for a while.

Liam and I were not in our strongest moment and I knew that we would never last with a long distance relationship. All throughout our relationship Brianna tried to get in his pants and she caused us a lot of problems and fights. From what I've heard as soon as I left he went running to her. Sigh.

"Can we talk?" He asked. To be honest, I didn't want to talk, plus there was nothing to talk about. We broke up, he moved on and so did I. Liam was a great guy and he was the sweetest boyfriend I've had but it was over and he needed to understand that. "Please" He insisted after he realized that I was doubting.

"Fine, but be quick" I sighed and followed him to the backyard of the school. "What do you want to talk about?"

"Um I know your friends told you about me and Brianna and I just wanted to tell you that it's not true. I mean we were together but it was just like a one night kind of thing and then she thought we were together but we really weren't" He quickly explained and I frowned.

"Liam look, you don't have to give me explanations okay? We broke up, you're free to do whatever you want" I hoped he could understand that I'm not interested in whatever he did after I left. "Li, it's been a year, I'm over it okay?" He looked at me with his piercing green eyes and nodded.

"Can we be friends?" He shrugged and I nodded. I know the whole -being friends with your ex- is not a good idea but we didn't have any bad blood. He then went to his first period and I went to mine. Thank god our first period wasn't the same.
