Sam sighed with a smile and nodded his head towards me, " Yea?" He influenced
I struggled to remember but nothing else was coming to the surface. Matter of fact the harder I tried to remember the present ones faded. I frowned and look at my feet, closing my eyes. When I opened them I had lost everything. I look up and see a tall man with brown eyes and longish hair staring at me with a worried face.
" Rue?" He asked, reaching a hand towards me.
I frowned and slid out of my chair, moving farther from the foreign man.
" Who are you and what do you want giant?" I press
The man with the emerald green eyes stares at me with eyes full of lost hope. I look at him and frown, " Well? Speak!" I urged. The brown eyed man stood and his tall stature began to move towards me. I back up cautiously and tripped over something. When I stepped on it it tugged at a place right next to my shoulder blade. Wings? I had wings?! They began to flap frantically not knowing what to do and I panicked. The tall man rushed forward tried to grab my bloody battered wing to calm it. The wing smacked him under the chin and he bounded back. The shorter man came after me and tried to copy what the giant had tried. He pins the first wing behind me and I cry out in pain. The second wing calms down and stops moving. The green eyed man leaned closer to my ear and mumbled, " Rue you know who we are we rescued you."
I frowned and shook my head, " Rescued me? From what? I am a warrior who has been wounded in battle I don't need any help except my father's."
" No!" His voice booms over me " You fell from the sky with other angels!"
My frown softens as it triggers my memory of why I'm so torn.
" I fell?" I ask calmer.
" Yes," the man answered with a calmer voice than before " With all the other angels. Except you're not like them-"
" I'm a Valkyrie."
The man sighs and nods his head. He lets go of me and I turn to face him.
His face looks full of sorrow and regret.
" What's wrong?" I ask softly
The man goes to say something but instantly shuts his mouth, pushing past me slightly angry, " Nothing."
I watch the man pull out and chair and plop down into it, chugging his beer. My brows furrow and I rub my arm nervously, " I'm sorry if I upset you sir."
" Dean." He corrects
" Dean. And I'm sorry."
He sighs and finally meets my gaze, " It's alright you didn't do anything Rue."
I nod and turn to leave him be when I spot the taller man sitting up from the ground and rubbing his head. He had an egg on his forehead and his lips were bloody and split. He looks up at me and scowls.
" I'm so sorry." I say, bending down to his level
He forces a smile and winces, " It's fine I've been through worse."
I cautiously lift my hand to his forehead but stop. He gives me a questioned look.
" May I?"
His skeptic look stays as he nods in approval.
I raise my hand the rest of the way to his forehead and take a deep breath. A golden light shines bright between my hand and his forehead. When the light dies down the man coughs and raises his eye brows in surprise.
" What did you just do?" He asks
" I healed you of all bodily troubles."
He frowned and smiled slightly, touching his temple. Him and Dean exchange glances and he laughs, " No headache, blood or goose egg. I'm not tired at all I'm not so stressed anymore either."
Dean's face shows surprise as he chuckles, " Neat."
I stand and smile nervously, " It's nothing really. It's just something I have."
I look up at the taller man and frown, " You're welcome..."
" Sam." He answers
" Right," I say hanging my head slightly " Sam."
The two exchange glances before Sam puts his hand on my back and smiles down at me.
" Hey," his soft tone catches my attention and I look up meet his gaze. " Lets get you cleaned up. Don't worry about you're memory it'll come back eventually."
I glance down at my attire, more like rags hanging from my body and blood smeared all over my body and dirt clotting spots. I sigh and nod.
He leads me out of the library and down the hall to the bathroom. There he tells me to sit on the sink and wait for him. I do as I'm told and wait for him to return.
He seems to be a nice man. I mean he's willing to help me and take care of me even though I'm defaulty. I swing my feet off he sink and sigh. I was actually bored for once. I chuckle and smile at they thought of being bored. I'm on midguard, I shouldn't be bored. I should be worried most of all I can't remember less than half of my memories and my partners, who ever they are, are probably worried sick. All that stuck in my mind is who I am, what I am, and where I come from. Location wise. Everything else is sort of sketchy and fades in and out.
Sam walks back in the doorway with a folded green plaid something and black shorts. He set them down on the sink next to me and went to the other sink and grabbed a tote with supplies in it. He set the tote on the sink and came over to me. He crouched down so he could first focus on my legs and he reached for my clothing draped over them but stopped.
He glanced up at me, " May I?"
I nod and he carefully peels the fabric off of my blood dried legs. I wince in pain and he apologizes. I force a laugh and shake my head saying it's alright. Once the cloth is peeled off my legs he uses scissors to cut the fabric off and adds a stinging goop to my legs. I winced and tried not to lift my legs out of his reach. Once that was done he grabbed a brown bottle and poured it over my legs were my bigger cuts were. The dirt rinsed off easily but it stung very badly. I lifted my legs and cried out.
" It's okay Rue it's going to help." He insists
I give him a cautious glance and he nods and stares at me with big soft eyes. I sigh and put my legs back down. He pours the fluid over my cuts again and I cry out once more. Once he stops he stands and looks at me with an awkward look.
" Yes?" I aks
He clears his throats and looks at the huge gash on my stomach
" I'm uh, gonna need to take that off to get to the cut."
I look at my torn clothing and then back at Sam. He twiddled his thumbs and I slid off the counter comfortably. I rip the crummy cloth from the rest of my body and Sam clears his throat uncomfortable.
" Well, get back up on the counter." He says dryly.
I give him a worried glance and do as I'm told. He grabs a rag and soaks it in more f the stinging liquid. He stands and stares into my eyes for a while before I finally speak, " Is something wrong Sam?"
He clears his throat and shakes his head rather quickly, " No um, no-not at all lemme just," he comes closer to me and dabs the rag at my bloody gash on my abdomen. I wince and he jumps back, " I'm sorry this just seems awkward should I go get Dean? He'll be better with this than me. I mean he'll be more comfortable and uh."
He takes a deep breath and I chuckle slightly.
" Let me see the rag." I say, reaching out my hand
Sam hands me the rag and I dab at my wounds. Every time I wince Sam flinches, even though he isn't looking at me.
Once I'm done Sam sighs and hands me a towel from the showers. I wrap it around myself and he finally looks at me.
" Why don't you take a shower and I'll help you with the bigger marks when your done okay?"
I give him a blank stare and he sighs, " You don't need help with the shower do you."
My stare turns warmer as I smile slightly, " No I think I'll be fine."
He sighs and I see his shoulders drop as he smiles, " Okay good."
He shows me the hot and cold nobs on the shower and then leaves me alone.
