Ariana

My head hurts. Really bad. It feels like there's a hole in it. I can barely breathe. Where ever I am, it smells horrible. It's dark. I can make out a figure in a corner of the room, and it looks like it's breathing. But that's all I can see. My throat is dry and scratchy, and when I try to talk, nothing comes out but a few coughs.

The figure in the corner moves. It turns over and looks straight at me.

"You're awake?"

It's a boys voice. He sounds young, but it's hard to tell because his voice is hoarse.

"Where am I?" I ask, my voice scratchy.

"Ask someone who knows. All I know is that some random man kidnapped both of us."

"I got kidnapped?"

"Yes, princess."

"Please don't call me that. I don't even know you."

"Well, what's your name?"

"A-Ariana." I stutter.

"And I'm Justin. Now we know each other."

"Umm, okay..." I search my pockets for anything that can help me get out of this room, but find nothing.

"Princess, if you're looking for your phone, I don't think you'll have much luck. What movies have you seen where the kidnapper leaves the phone with the child?"

"How long have I been here?" I ask, ignoring him.

"Well, since I dont have a clock, I don't really know. But I would say about 3 hours. You were obviously asleep for most of that."

"Did I wake up before now?"

"Yeah, once. But, I guess you don't remember that."

"Not really."

"Princess, let me tell you something. Whenever you hear that door unlock, act like you're asleep. He'll leave you alone."

"He'll leave me alone?" I ask, confused.

"Yeah, um, you're a teenage girl, and he's a grown man. Let me know when you've put 2 and 2 together."

"Oh my God." I cover my face with my hands, letting the tears stream down my face.

"Hey, hey, hey. Please don't cry. He'll hear you, and that'll make him come down here."

"No, no, no. You can't let him do that."

"I'll try my best. I really will. But you have to listen to me."

"I-I will." I wipe my face, and shake my hands.

I just feel disgusting being in this room. I need to get out. Suddenly, the doorknob starts rattling. He's coming.

I remember what Justin said and lay down, closing my eyes. I hear the door open, and heavy footsteps come into the room. I hear something click, and I assume he turned on the light.

"She's still sleep?" A mans voice says.

"Yeah." Justin says.

"Excuse you?"

"Yes sir."

"Tell me when she regains consciousness. I've got some things planned." He chuckles.

"Well, I'll be back tomorrow morning, if she doesn't wake up by then."

I hear Justin groan and the man laughs before the door closes and locks. A few seconds later, I open my eyes. There's a light on now, and I can see Justin clearly.

He's actually pretty cute, even with his hair everywhere and dirt all over his face.

"What did he do to you?"

"He just kicked my leg. I'm fine."

"Are you sure? You sounded pretty hurt."

"No, my leg was just healing from a football injury. Everything's okay."

"You sure?"

"Positive." I try to sit up, my head pounding as I do.

"Be careful." Justin says.

"You might have a concussion." He adds.

"Oh my God." I say slowly.

"It's okay, it's okay. You're gonna be fine." His voice is reassuring.

Tears start falling down my face again, but I wipe them away quickly.

"You're too pretty to cry. So stop." Justin says.

I look up at him and he winks at me. I send him a small smile.

He was just being nice.

Friendly.

But, even as I know he was being nice, I know I'm blushing. Hopefully he can't see the slight redness in my cheeks.

"Are you blushing?" He asks.

Fudge cakes.

I don't answer him.

"Aww, that's adorable. Do you think I'm cute?"

"Is this really the appropriate time for that?"

"Just answer the question. We have nothing else to do."

"Fine. Maybe a little."

"Well, I think you're cute too. Beautiful, actually. But, it'll never happen."

"What will never happen?"

"You and me. If we get out of here, when we get out of here, I'll probably never see you again."

"Maybe you will."

"But it'll still never happen. You're probably the most popular girl in your school, aren't you?"

"Almost. I honestly don't care, but everyone just likes me. There's another girl, that no one likes, but she's the most popular."

"Why doesn't anyone like her?"

"I'm not sure, but she's kind of rude. And by kind of, I mean a lot."

"Well, you're definitely the most popular girl here." He says.

All the good memories leave me, and my current situation comes flooding in.

"This sucks."

"It might suck a little less if you let me come over there with you." I look at him and he smiles.

"You look lonely over there, princess. Let me keep you company." He says.

"Okay, you can come." He grins and slides over to me.

"You're a lot prettier up close, if it's possible."

I smile at him.

"Can I... touch you?" I look at him like he's crazy.

"No, no. Not like that. I mean like this." He wraps an arm around my shoulder.

My cheeks heat again and he chuckles.

"You know I'm not gonna hurt you, right?"

"Of course. Why?"

"You're stiff. Just relax. I promise I'll protect you the best I can."

"Thank you. Thank you so much."

I tell him about me, and he tells me about him. He's an only child, who lives with his dad, who's not at home much. Which is why it was so easy for him to get... you know.

I don't remember what happened to me, but it's slowly coming back. All I remember is I was walking Toulouse then everything went black.
