"Did you sleep good?" Justin asks.

"Well, considering the situation, sure. You made it better."

"Well I'm glad I'm here." I smile and look down in my lap.

Something's missing. I immediately know what it is. I feel around my neck, and confirm my suspicions.

My necklace.

"Oh my God." I cover my mouth with my hand.

"What's wrong?" Justin asks.

"My necklace. It's gone. I need that necklace. My mom gave it to me."

"Calm down. Were you wearing it when you were walking Toulouse?"

"Yeah."

"Which means it fell off somewhere between this house and wherever you were then. I'm pretty sure the police found it."

"I hope so. I really hope so."

The doorknob starts jingling again and Justin curses under his breath.

He slides back to his spot just as the door opens. Now I can see the man who kidnapped me. He's huge, like tall and muscular, and he looks to be in his thirties or forties. The room immediately smells of smoke, and I stop breathing. I am extremely asthmatic, which is one of the reasons my dad left. He smoked a lot, especially around me.

And this man has a cigarette in his mouth, which is lit.

"You're awake." He smiles at me.

Half of his teeth are missing, and the other half are yellow and disgusting. I almost want to gag, but I don't. Who knows what he'll do to me? I'm holding my breath, to not inhale the smoke, which he's blowing all around the room. He needs to leave, or I'll probably die. Maybe that's a little over exaggeration, but still. I'll need my inhaler, which I don't have.

"I'm going out for the day. I have a few things planned for you when I get back." He smirks.

My brain is exploding with the things he's capable of, and none of them are good.

I glance at Justin, who's staring straight at the man. Almost through him. He looks furious. Like he wants to beat the crap out of him.

"Well, bye. Be ready for me when I get back." He walks out and closes the door behind him.

I let out the breath I was holding, and immediately start coughing. Justin looks at me worried, and I hold my hand up.

"I'm okay, I'm okay."

"You don't sound okay."

The door opens, and the man walks back in. I hold my breath again as he throws two bottles of water on the floor.

"Almost forgot." He mumbles before leaving again.

"You have asthma, don't you?" Justin asks.

I nod.

"How bad?"

"Really bad. But only when I run too much without drinking water or somebody smokes around me."

"Oh God. Drink some water. You'll need it."

I take a bottle of water and drink the whole thing.

"One more thing." The door opens again and I roll my eyes.

I swear, if he comes back after this.

"Watch her while I'm gone." He pushes a little girl into the room and closes the door, locking it.
