CHAPTER 1:
"Tess?"
Her eyes widened as tears escaped and she flung her arms around him. Holding him tightly, not wanting to let go. Hoping this wasn't a dream.
"It's you, it's you!" he grasps her face in between his large hands, nodding his head,
"I know, I- You- God, I can't believe it!" she could see him starting to tear up, "I've been waiting for this for so long, I know your heart is still catching up but I-"
"I think I'm all caught up..." he stares into her eyes intently,
"Do you- do you wanna get out of here?" she nods but remembers that she's with her friends. She looks over just to find them looking at her with more than just approval, she laughs, still holding on to Shawn,
"Yes, let's go."

She walks out into the cold with him, forgetting about the coffee, forgetting about the rest of the world. She was content just to have him by her side.
To say it was freezing was an understatement but as he kept moving closer to her, she felt a sense of warmth and safeness.
"I don't know what to say right now, my heart-"
"Is beating so goddamn fast, Shawn, please calm down," she says sweetly,
"I just- I can't believe it's you, you're a lot different than I had imagined, Tess."
"And how did you imagine me?"
"Not as beautiful as you are, right here"
"I never imagined you to be Shawn Mendes? If that makes you feel any better."
"So you know who I am then?"
"Everyone knows who you are, I used to uh... listen to you-"
"Just used to?" he smiles,
"Okay, I listen to you, your music is so good, happy?"
"Just as long as I'm with you, I will be." het heart skips a beat at his words, she bites her bottom lip, deciding,
"I wanna show you a place."
"Okay, show me a place."
She grabs his hand and make their way through the busy streets. They both run for about five minutes before reaching the destination. She looks up at the incredibly tall skyscraper and look back around.
"What are you looking for?" he asks,
"The police."
"The police!?"
"Yes, now hurry up! Chop, chop!" they both run towards the elevator and make their up to the rooftop of the Eureka Tower. When the elevator finally stops, they step out to check for any sign of other people. She takes his hand and pulls him out to see the sight, "This is where I come to think."
"Really?"
"Yup... it's illegal to be up here."
"Tess!"
"I'm kidding... kind of, it's only illegal if I get caught?" he laughs at her logic.
She finds herself standing at the edge, breathing in the gush of wind whipping past their faces. She feels his hands snake around het waist.
"I think I could live like this, just like this."
"Me too." She smiles at him, "You know, it's only been twenty minutes and I already feel like I've known you my whole life..."
"That's because, in here," he intertwines het fingers with his and slowly drags it up to her heart, "you've known me your whole life."
"I guess you're right." they both stand there for a minute, taking in the moment,
"So what do you do up here?"
"I think. This is my thinking spot. No phone service, no wifi... Just the sky."
"I might need something like this, my life gets crazy sometimes." you nod,
"Well, I guess, mi casa es tu casa."
"You know how to speak Spanish?" he says curiously,
"Uh... selectively?"
"What does that even mean?" he laughs,
"Sometimes I speak it, sometimes I speak gibberish." he continues to laugh. She watches as he closes his eyes, appreciating all his features. Time seems to slip as she don't realise how long it's been until things begin to become silent. He moves in closer.
"I- I can see why we were meant for each other."
"Yeah?"
"Yes. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." his hand makes it's way to the nape of her neck and pulls her in for a kiss, her hand softly caressing his cheek as he kisses her, He pulls away and rests his forehead against hers, "Te amo, Tess."
