CHAPTER 2:
After spending four hours on the rooftop of her favourite skyscraper, Shawn had to get back to his hotel room. They held hands walking, talking about everything and anything, not wanting to leave each other.
"Tess, don't you need to get home?" Tess nods, "How are you gonna get there?"
"Shawn, I've lived here my whole life, I can get home fine! I'll be fin-"
"No, c'mon, I'll get my driver to take you home."
"Shawn-"
"You're my girl, I will not have you take a train home."
"Your girl?" she smirks,
"I mean... I'm sorry- I shouldn't have sai-"
"Shut up," she pulls him in for a kiss, "you can call me that and any other cute names you can think of."
"Let's get you home, princess." he says, grabbing her hand possessively.
Shawn had asked the driver to take the long way home. He didn't want to lose a single minute of her, he was falling hard, his heart felt like it was beating at 190 beats per minute. He was so close to her, yet she felt too far away. His neediness to be close to her was insatiable. He wanted to feel her hands in his, her face pressed up against his chest or just her hand caressing his cheek, he would never be satisfied unless every moment was with her.
"Is there something on my face?" she says, confused as he loses his train of thought,
"Huh? What?"
"Well you're kinda just staring at me so... so intensely."
"I'm just- I guess I- I don't-" he sighs, he doesn't want to sound stupid, not in front of the girl he loves,
"What is it? You don't need to feel embarrassed, I'm kinda stuck with you for life... wait! Not that I'm complaining!"
"I want to stay with you here; where you are I want to be."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, let's live here where you are, where your family is..."
"Shawn, no, you have a life, your career-"
"-can wait"
"Shawn, don't put me on the spot like this, please?"
"Shit... I- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to blast you like that, I just don't want to leave you," he could feel her heart quickening, as did his,
"How long have we got?"
"About a week."
"That's enough time, Shawn! We'll see each other again, I promise."
"What about when I leave?" she puts his head between her hands, caressing his cheek,
"We're stuck with each other, you know that right?" he nods, "Well, in that case, we'll find a way to see each other again, okay?"
"Okay." she pecks him on the lips and smiles.
Before they knew it, he was standing with her at her front door. She fiddled with her fingers before he slipped his hand in between her small hands, taking hold of them. He pulls her in, slowly snaking his other hand around her waist.
"Will I see you again?" he asks, his forehead landing on hers,
"Of course."
"When?"
"You're extremely clingy, you know that?" she laughs,
"I'm just happy and I love you." he pecks her on the lips,
"I'll drop by tomorrow, Shawn."
"I'll have my driver come by and get you," he whispers against her lips, "I need to know you're okay." he pulls her in for another kiss. The feeling much more needy.
"I need to go in now." she laughs as she pulls away,
"I'll see you tomorrow then?"
"Yes, you will." he waves her goodbye and walks back to the car.
When she enters the door to her home, her mother stands at the end of the small hallway, near the dining room. She looks at Tess, seemingly angry.
"IT'S HIM ISN'T IT?" she screams in happiness, running towards Tess and engulfing her into a hug as she nods, "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD MY BABY'S GROWING UP" she starts to tear up,
"Eileen, what's going on?" her father steps into the light, rubbing his eyes,
"Nate, your daughter found her love!"
"Huh... You sure it's him?" he says,
"Of course it's him! What kind of-"
"MOM! DAD!" Tess says, holding up her hands in surprise, "Dad, yes it's him, I felt it, and Mom, we're gonna spend the next couple of weeks together if that's okay with you?" Eileen nods excitedly.
"Tess, I don't think that's a good idea." her dad butts in,
"What do you mean it's not a good idea?"
"You just don't know him, Tess!"
"This is why we're doing this, Dad! To get to know each other!"
"Tess, you are not seeing him and that's final!"
