Road Trip - Bucky x Reader

This is for a Contest I decided to participate in to enjoy your read and feel free to comment. This is my first Bucky one shot.

Requirements: Write a x reader, ranging from 500-2000 words

Prompt: Your job is to write a one shot where the reader is stuck in the car with Bucky, Sam, and Steve, and trying to keep the peace (or at least when Steve is looking)

Warnings: 1.5 cuss words, touching

Today was the day that you were dreading all week, you were getting ready to be stuck in a car for multiple hours with Sam, Bucky, and Steve. You didn't mind being with Bucky and Steve because they were your best friends, but you have never gotten along with Sam, and it was no surprise that Steve shoved you and Bucky in the back together.

Bucky was behind Sam while you were behind Steve and minding your own business by looking out the window hoping that this trip would be over soon and would go without any arguments, and so far it was.

It had been a few hours and you could feel your legs starting to ache from the lack of use and you knew that it wouldn't be much longer until you would need to have Steve pull over so you could walk around for a bit. You felt a slight nudge on your arm so you turned your attention from you aching legs to Bucky that was sitting next to you with an evil grin. You looked at him in confusion and he made a glance to Sam helping you grasp the idea of what he wanted, so you returned the grin telling him you were on the same page.

Bucky lifted up his hand just enough where you could easily see hm countdown, but not high enough where Steve or Sam would see if they happened to look back. As Bucky started counting down from five, you quickly cleared your throat and quickly tapped Steve on the shoulder three times to let him know what was going to happen. Even though you didn't want to be in the car, you still didn't want to crash.

When Bucky hit zero all hell broke loose, Bucky started pushing on Sam's chair like a five year old having a tantrum on an airplane and you started singing Heat of The Moment by Asia on the top of your lungs.

"GOD DAMN IT!!!" Sam screeched out in surprise causing you and Bucky to start chuckling. "Knock it o-" Sam went to shout but you cut him off by singing louder and yelling "Sorry Sammy, I can't hear ya". (A/N if you catch what I did there I will love you forever) Bucky continued kicking and pushing his chair until you two thought it was enough.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!!!" Sam bellowed with a look of pure terror and anger, while you and Bucky where in the back laughing so hard tears were in your eyes.

"You.... seemed way to...... relaxed" Bucky gasped out between laughing fits because you were laughing so hard you were silent.

Sam turned around and growled "You know what Y/L/N and Barnes, Fu-"

"Hey, language!" Steve cut off Sam from completing the word and causing you and Bucky to laugh harder and make weird and silly faces to Sam only making him even more mad.

By the time you and Buck regained your composure and turned back to a normal human color you guys were pulling into a restaurant.

When Steve found a parking spot you all climbed out, Steve turned around "Will you three please behave in the restaurant, because we don't need to be in the newspaper because you guys were acting like kids, and Y/N and Bucky I'm looking at you two"

You looked up at him with a devious smile "No promises Cap" you chuckled while you shoved Bucky and took off into the restaurant with Bucky hot on your tail, and Steve and Sam trailing shaking their heads and jogging after you two.

By the time you got to the door Bucky had thrown you over his shoulder and was casually walking into the restaurant like you weren't on his shoulder.

"Can you put me down yet?" you snickered out to Bucky hoping he would

"What? Don't like the view?" Bucky said and you could feel him chuckle.

"No the views fine. It's the view for others I don't like. I know my ass is fine as hell but I still would like to avoid it being noticed" you said laughing a little and pinching his butt causing him to jump a little and you to chuckle.

"I guess you have a point" He sighed out softly while putting you down with a smile. When you finally got fully on the ground Sam and Steve walked in still shaking their heads.

The four of you found a decent corner to sit. You and Sam were on one side and Steve and Bucky were on the other. You guys took a few moments to look through the menus before the waiter showed up to take your orders. The boys quickly ordered what they wanted and you order your usual.

It didn't take long for your drinks to arrive which you quickly gulped down. You sat back a little resting your head on the seat, but your peace was soon disturbed by you getting pelted by a small object on your forehead. You opened your eyes to see Bucky sitting there trying to act casual with the spoon in his hand that he used at the catapult.

You quickly balled up a piece of paper and dipped into your drink to make it wet and launched it at Bucky and failing miserably. The piece of paper flew across the table and hit Steve on the side of the nose. Normally this would've made you cuckle a little bit, but the piece of paper stuck to his nose and caused Steve to go crossed eyed to look at it which caused you, Bucky, and Sam to burst out laughing.

Steve just calmly shook his head and balled up a piece of paper and return fire which turned into a full fledged battle between the four of you until the food arrived and you all ate in silence but with a few chuckles here and there.

When you all finished eating Steve called out for the check to pay and leave a hefty tip for the mess the created.

You all got into the car in the same spots. You and Bucky in the back and Steve and Sam in the front. You all were a worn out from the paper battle in the restaurant so you all were quiet. You pulled out your phone and started play (Your favorite game) with Bucky until you both managed to drift off with your head on his shoulder and his head resting on your head all the way to your destination, where Sam woke you up by blaring Heat of the Moment through the speakers of the car as pay back.
