Harry's POV

Kara and I sort of strolled aimlessly along after breaking off from the group. Her hand dangled between us as we walked, but every time I figured I would chance maybe grabbing ahold of it, she'd either reach up to scratch, or point at something interesting, and successfully ruin my plans.

The odd thing about it was that she didn't even seem to notice. A few seconds later, that same innocent little limb was back dangling between us like a few more things I've noticed: lies. Now Kara obviously hadn't a clue about my...untruths, but I was being eaten alive. She carried on completely unaware and actually grabbed my hand in time to yank me into a store so quickly that I couldn't even catch the name of it.

"Haz, look at that dress!" she cries suddenly.

I chance a glance at the article in question and then look back at her suspiciously.

"Are you trying to seduce me?" I ask slowly.

Her green eyes widen and she looks over at me like I've just swallowed a shoe or something.

"What?" I ask in uncertainty.

I don't expect her to burst out laughing, but I join in just the same.

"As if," she snorts, "I probably shouldn't even think about trying to fit into that dress!"

It's my turn to snort as I look her over.

"Kara, you're tiny!"

"You mean to say 'I'm short', but I already know that." She retorts with her back to me.

"No, I meant what I said. I'm tall, not stupid."

"Psh."

"Don't 'psh' me, you little minx!"

She shoots me the eyes and makes the noise again. I choose to ignore her and instead grab the first dress of the rack she had pointed at.

"Go try this on," I command.

She takes it, glances at the tag and walks past me. I expect her to go straight to the fitting rooms but instead she replaces the dress I'd chosen with one further back on the rack.

"Don't play games, Harold. Do I look like an 'extra small' to you?"

I don't know what she expects me to say. As far as I'm convinced, she looks like a fairy, but I'm just a guy! What do I know?

She turns and heads to the fitting room, closing the door swiftly behind her without a backwards glance.

'Sassy little thing!' I think to myself, "Almost like...Louis!" I chuckle at the thought and pray she isn't as grumpy in the mornings at least.

She comes back shortly in the little black number and I feel my eyes go wide.

"What do you think?" she asks, looking up coyly through her eyelashes.

"I think you look fantastic!" I say in approval, "And~ that I'd like to see you put that dress to good use sometime soon."

She blushes lightly and gives a little twirl before swishing away. She thinks I don't notice the happy glint in her eyes as she turns around to smile at me.

After buying the dress for her, we leave the store and walk towards the fountain in the center of the mall. I set the bag near our feet and let her sit down first before sitting as close to her as I can without being obvious and creepy about it. I'm sure she notices anyway, but she's polite and doesn't mention it.
