“Now where were we...” He says inching closer to me.

I back away grumpily, “Nope.”

“But why?” he pouts making it hard for me to say no.

“You were too friendly with my best friend,” I say with my head pointed away.

“Oh I was, was I?” He smirks holding my hand and rating his chin on my shoulder.

I shakily nod my head as I feel his breath tickle my neck.

“Fine let’s have a proper first date then,” He grins.

“But shouldn’t we get you’re bags taken care of?” I asked surprised.

He shakes his head, “They can wait,  you can’t.”

I blush furiously, “Oh stop it.”

We sit down at my table and he takes my hand. He rubs circles on my palm and I feel those damn butterflies.
Violet comes over again smiling suspiciously, “So what would you like fellows?”

Griffin playfully says, “Whatever he is having.”

Violet looks at me expectanly, “Peppermint tea please.”

She grins, “Two peppermint teas coming up.”

While waiting I absently look out the window to see it start snowing.

“I love snow,” I mutter.

Griffin squeezes my hand “Me too, it’s something so pure but so powerful if it gets to out of control. It’s  like a first love.”

I smile at him, “I can’t believe you are here right now.”

He chuckles, “I know its hard to believe three months ago I gave you the tickets.”

I nod, “It’s nice to finally touch you.”

He leans across the table and is inches from my face, “I know what you mean.”

Staring at him we start to lean in and I feel his breath on my lips when Violet puts the teacups down, “Here are your peppermint teas.”

I groan, “Are you serious?”

I feel Griffin’s leg kick me,  I mumble “Thank you.”

Violet chuckles. “No problem.”

Violet leaves and I hear her cackling like the witch she is. Some best friend I have. I guess this is finally pay back for interrupting any moment Jamila and her start to have when I stick my head in at the wrong moment. Which has been plenty of times with those two.

“Ivan you okay?”

I smile, “Yeah I have you here.”

He blushes, “You  really know how to make a guy blush.”

I grin, “I learn from the best.”

He laughs and we finally have our proper date.

~

We had our first fight one month before he was due to come see me. It was our date night but lately he had been hanging with his theatre friends a lot because they were all in a stage production of “Sleeping Beauty.” To say I was only a little jealous was a understatement.
He was to be Prince Phillip and he showed me a picture of his cast and crew. So when I saw who was to be his “Sleeping Beauty.” I got really jealous she was so pretty! Long blonde hair, with electrifying blue eyes; She could steal any man away. It didn’t help that she was a close friend of his. Griffin unintentionally talking about her a lot including their karaoke bar battles and how “epic” they were made it worse. So when he skipped date night to go with his friends I lost it. I ignored him the next day and any of his Skype calls. He texted me with “Sorry” “Are you okay?” and the cherry on top, “What’s wrong?”

He kept bugging me though! But I didn’t reply  to him, until a few days later…  Violet called me saying she got a message from Griffin that I was ignoring him and he doesn’t know why. She lectured me for about an hour about it.

Basically saying, “Whatever stupid thing I am upset about I need to tell him and not ignore him because that won’t fix anything.”

And she was right. So I called him and he answered right away. His face popped up and I melted at the sight he looked like he was crying, “Are you okay?” He asks.

I shake my head, “I am jealous.”

He looks at me bewildered “At what?!”

His eyes betrayed him he was hurt  “You ignored me for three days?!”

I sigh heavily, “I’m jealous of your theatre friends they get to see you in real life and one of them even kisses you in this play!”

He rubs his temples frustrated at me, “But they’re not you.”

I feel myself lose my resolve, but my stubbornness wins “I just hate to think someone is kissing you when it should be me.”

He sighs deeply, “Would you say this if we lived in the same city and saw each other everyday?”

I ponder for a moment but shake my head, “I love your theatrical side and any side of you. I guess it’s just hard doing this apart.”

He nods in understanding, “I know love, but soon we will see each other and you won’t have to be jealous.”

He winks, “Trust me you have no idea.”

I feel myself get hotter, “That’s not fair!”

He laughs, “Love you too!”
