The next morning I'm rushing around the apartment like a madwoman.

I woke up late and am currently trying to eat toast and brush my hair at the same time.

What a lovely look, bread crumbs really bring out my highlights. Sigh.

Once I look somewhat like a human being, I run down the stairs to see two hungover twins laying across the couch.

"Morning, Ellie." Groans Kanen. His blonde hair is sticking out in every possible direction.

"Are you guys not going to class?" They look absolutely smashed, it's actually quite comical.

Maria speaks up, "I have afternoon classes today, so I'm good." I nod, she got lucky this time.

I look at Kanen and raise my eyebrows, "What about you? Skipping today? I know you have morning classes."

He chuckles, "Yeah, I think I'm just going to hang out here today, Ellie. Don't worry about me."

I roll my eyes, "Starting off the year well, I see." He laughs.

I toss him a bottle of pills and a water bottle, "Both of you, take these or else you'll feel like this the rest of the day. I have to go now, I'm going to be late."

"Bye, Mom!" They shout, making me laugh and roll my eyes.

I head for the door, noticing I only have five minutes to get to class. I take off down the street, weaving around bikers and slow walkers.

I make it to Biochemistry just as Dr. Stevens is about to shut the door.

"Ah, Ms. Duncan. Glad you could join us this morning. Take a seat, please." He gives me a smile.

I nod and with a quick glance around the room, I notice that there are only a couple seats left in the back.

I make my way down the isle and find none other than Harry Styles sitting by himself.

Going out on a whim, I sit down beside him.

It's silent for a few seconds before he speaks, "It seems that we've switched roles this time, hasn't it?"

I look at him, puzzled, "How do you mean?"

His green eyes have a small hint of amusement in them, "The first day of class I was the last one to come in and you were staring at me from the front row." I gasped, feeling my cheeks turn red. I didn't know he knew I was watching him.

He chuckled, "Don't worry, I found it flattering. So why were you late this morning?"

Relieved he changed the subject, I started to feel more comfortable. "I went to bed late last night and slept through my alarm. It's awfully difficult dragging two drunk twins away from a party."

His eyes furrow, "Are those your friends?"

I sigh, "Yeah, they're a handful sometimes but I love them. I grew up with them and we all live together now."

He seemed content with my answer and nodded, suddenly looking distracted.

I wonder if he's thinking about the way our last encounter ended. It's all that's been on my mind since last night and I'm dying to understand him, but I don't want to push him too hard.
