“Christina, hey we’re here,” a voice called out in my void of sleep. I flicked my eyes open as they adjusted to the lights above. My sight finally returned as I looked up, Michael stood above me looking at me with a gentle smile. I moaned a little sitting up and stretching, “How long was I asleep?” “Oh about an hour or so, I didn’t want to wake you, you looked so peaceful.” I blushed a little and squeaked out, “Oh.” We stood up and made our way off the plane as Michael’s team met us on the ground with our luggage. They begin to load Michael’s luggage into the back of a limo as he turned to me, “Would you like me to take you home?” “Oh no I’m fine; I can just call a cab.” “No, I insist, let me take you home. You live in Santa Ynez anyways right?” “Yeah but-” he cut me off, “I live just outside of Santa Ynez, it’s fine.” He called someone over to take my bag and load it in with the others, he grabbed my hand a led me to the limo. “Thank you Michael, you really don’t have to,” I said as he opened the door for me to slide in, “I know I don’t have to, but I want to.” He gave me a smile as he got in and shut the door. The driver peered back through the window, “where to sir?” Michael looked at me wondering where, “Um 376 vista avenue, Santa Ynez,” I said repeating my address. I glanced over at Michael as he mindlessly looked out the window and then back at me meeting my stare with a smile. I smiled back and then quickly looked down trying to hide my red face. “So how long have you lived in Santa Ynez?” he asked looking to me, “Oh about two years, I moved there when I took the job at the District Attorneys office. What about you?” “Well I did a music video many years ago at a property outside of the city, it was absolutely gorgeous. So I bought the land and built my home there, so since 87/88’.” “Oh yeah, Neverland right?” he chuckled, “Yes, Neverland. You’ll have to come by sometime and see it for yourself, it really is a magical place.” I gave him a reassuring smile, “I just might.” After talking more about both of our jobs we reached my house. I glanced out the window, “We’ll here we are.” He got out and held to door open for me and then rushed to grab my suitcase for me. He gave me a sweet smile, “allow me.” I didn’t argue because even though I’ve only known Michael for a short time, I know he is incredibly stubborn with certain things. We walked up the front steps and stopped at the door. He set my luggage down and stuck his hands in his pockets as he looked down. “Well I’ve had a nice time Michael, thank you for this,” I said gesturing to the limo. “Sure thing,” he said fidgeting a little. I didn’t really know what else to say, “Well, I guess I’ll see you at the court house.” He looked up and smiled, “Yeah see you there, and again thanks for being with me. You must think I’m some weak cry baby.” I jumped quickly, “No! Not at all, we all have our moments of emotions. I’d probably be even worse with something like that, you’re perfectly fine Michael.” He smiled and leaned in a kissed me on the cheek, “Thank you Christina. See you later.” And with that he headed back to the limo. I turned facing the door smiling like an idiot as I opened it up and made my way inside. After I closed the door I threw my luggage down and sighed to myself, god he’s so sweet. I headed to my room and put stuff away out of the suitcase. I glanced over at the clock reading 9:30, I decided to take a shower and get to bed. After showering and getting ready for bed I climbed in and sighed as I stared at the ceiling, how should I feel about Michael? Could I really have feelings for him, does he even like me in the slightest? I pushed my thoughts away as sleep took over.
