bum bum.tyler's heart beat out of his chest as the church seats filled up with people of all ages. he saw people aged around 5 to about 90, most of which he didn't recognize in the slightest. this might have been caused for two different reasons, one because he might have just never met them, or two because his thoughts were so clouded that he could barely recognize people he knew all of his life.

bum bum bum.his heart rate increased as he saw a wooden casket wheeled into the bleak and cold church basement. the funeral that tyler was attending was not expected by anyone, so they couldn't book anything better than the basement with chipped flowery wallpaper, which made it look like the flowers were wilting. the whole room just seemed forlorn, which supported the mood of the people gathered together to mourn the death of an angel.
tyler sat down in a chair in the front row of creaky, brown fold out chairs, immediately sinking down into the seat. the past few days had taken a toll on him to a great extent. although he wasn't the one who had died, his soul surely had died that day. he hadn't slept in 3 days, as he couldn't turn his brain off, it constantly swirled with thoughts of death and losing his husband.

bum bum bum bum.the memories of the night that tyler found his husband's body flooded back to the brown haired boy like a tsunami over a beach on a rainy day. tyler suddenly collapsed on the floor, greeted with a stilling blackness.
"tyler... tyler? are you okay?"
tyler woke up to his friend, brendon, shaking him. the light shone into the boy's closed eyes, but he refused to let the light in. he didn't want to see a world without his husband. brendon had watched him collapse, and had been trying to wake tyler up for several minutes. "what happened?" brendon questioned as he helped tyler back into his seat. "i don't really know, i started thinking about him and then just kind of collapsed," tyler replied, emphasizing the word 'him' as he couldn't even bring himself to say his late husband's name.
"the funeral starts in half an hour, you might want to go see him before everyone else crowds around the casket," brendon mumbled, motioning to the wooden casket. reluctant, tyler nodded and made his way over to the body of his dead husband.
slowly, tyler moved the silk cover off of the body only enough to see the top of his husbands head, a single tear streaming down his face as he saw the faded blue hair that was once so vibrant. as tyler pulled the cover down farther, he saw that the boy's face was extremely pallid, almost ghost like. the lips that used to be so full and so kissable were now cracked and pale. tyler let a few more tears fall as he remembered the first time he kissed the blue haired boy in the hallway of their middle school. middle school. they had been dating since middle school, and the following month was supposed to be their 7 year wedding anniversary. and now he was gone, he was gone way too early.

bum bum bum bum bum.tyler's heart was now beating loud enough that he could feel it in his leg. "why did you leave me?" tyler whispered into the casket. "you weren't supposed to leave me," he continued, starting to lose his composure. "i can't live without you, you kept me alive," tyler muttered in between choking cries, losing control of his breath. "what happened to staying alive for me?"
