Regret.
Is one of the most strongest feelings. Right now in the top of Louis' list. The more he looked at Harry the worser it got. The limp in his throat got bigger and bigger, and only he had finished crying a mere 10 minutes ago.
Louis stood up from his sitting position and walked out of his room. He knew there was some tiny store in here, somewhere on the ground floor (he hoped it was still open since the clock was reaching 9 pm), which meant he would definitely take the elevator since Harry was in room 1413 on the 4th floor. But it was when he reached the elevator(s) (there were 4) that took them too long since they were on the 9th, 10th, 12th or even the 14th floor, that he decided to take the stairs which he regretted after the 10th stair. Sigh.
He had bought a bunch of Oreo packs, almost sure he emptied the shop of its Oreos. Quite expensive because well this was a hospital. But it didn't stop him because he knew they were Harry's favourite. He had also bought a nice, cute little card for him with a tiny message written in his most neat hand writing.
Get well soon, Harry. I hope you will enjoy your stack of Oreos. Be careful okay, promise? Okay bye Harry xx
Louis chuckled as he tucked the card in its envelope. It was the perfect card for him.
It was in cartoon, a dog in the front with a sad looking expression. And above it said "Hope your tail is wagging again soon!" In the right back corner there was a boy with a sad looking expression with chocolate brown curls.
Maybe it was a little childish but he didn't think of that the moment he stood there in the shop. He had picked that card because the dog looked really cute which reminded him of Harry. And the best thing was of course a junior Harry in the back. He couldn't lose the chance, it was also the last one so he immediately bought it when he had spot his eyes on it.
Louis was two steps away from room 1413 and he hoped Harry was still asleep because he didn't want him to know it was him who had written the card and he was really lucky because Harry was indeed asleep.
He placed the card and his whole stack of Oreos on the small table next to his bed and sat back down again.
Harry woke 5 minutes after 9. He yawned slightly and rubbed his eyes, his eyes darted over to the left and Louis could see his eyes lighting up when he saw the Oreos, he then saw the red envelope and an even bigger smile was plastered on his face. He was a bit too brutal whereby he had hurt himself and he let out a gasp. Louis remained quiet, Harry still not knowing about his presence which Louis actually preferred.
His eyes were scanning over the neat words that were written down but then the smile replaced a frown and his eyes shot to the right.
It was kind of scary it was as if Harry knew the whole time that Louis was sitting there staring at him in awe but refused to give any notice of it.
"What are you doing here?" He put the card back in its envelope and put it down, stared in front of him because he thought Louis wasn't worth his glance.
"Making sure you're okay."
The lad in the bed scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Is this your card because then I don't want it. I don't want any shit fro--"
Louis gulped and stared at the ground for a couple of seconds, he played with his fingers and was just about to answer when he was interrupted.
"It's fucking yours isn't it! You hypocrite!"
That was a stab in his heart but it was true it is exactly what he is. It is his fault, that the boy in front of him is laying in a hospital bed with bruised and maybe a concussion and what not. and then here he was telling him to get well soon. What was he thinking?
