“He’s cute.” Pandora admitted.

“He’s not that cute.” I scoffed, but in reality, my heart felt like it was about to explode. I guess this is what people call a crush. Of all people why’d I have to have one on him? I can’t have this type of feeling inside me; it will be in the way of my revenge towards Ford.

“Delilah, don’t kid yourself, you know you think I’m extremely hot.” He laughed as he sat beside me and swung his arm on my shoulder holding me close to his chest.

“You’ve met?” Jason looked perplexed.

“We just bumped into each other this morn is all.” He laughed again. I felt so awkward around him when the gang was here.

“Whatever.” I groaned and gazed at the dirtied gray floor. All of a sudden, everyone’s eyes were directed to the huge TV’s in the middle on the room. At first I wondered what the ruckus was about but when his face came up on screen I groaned again.

“Ford.”

My eyes zoomed in to the TV were stood Ford and a reporter.

“Hello Mattie.” Ford said cheerfully.

“Hello Ford, what have you made today?” she asked him politely as she stuck the microphone in Fords face.

“I call my invention Hecate, for it is like a crossroad, there are two choices on it, either fix our world or destroy it. I made it like that because everyone has a choice; a choice that can change the world, either by destroying it and creating a new one, or keeping the new and sucking all of the smoke out of it.”

For a second the reporter looked flabbergasted but she quickly got over it, at least she looked like it, but I knew deep inside that she wasn’t. Only one person in the world of the living understands Ford’s twisted humor. The only other person is dead.

“O-kay, is it completed yet?”

“Nope, I need one more thing to complete this; one special person, with a strong mind, who can operate it for me.” He chuckled on screen. “If any of you want to be our new messiah, please come to my laboratory before it’s too late. I need 100 participants ill chose the best out of them all.”

After those words the broadcast was cut off the air.

“The hell is wrong with that guy?” Calvin growled.

“Shut up Calvin. You’re only pissed because you think our only messiah is Jesus Christ.” Pandora sighed. “Not all of us think that way. So stop judging the man. Anyhow, Francesca will kill you if she knows you’re talking about her fiancé like that. ”

Calvin rolled his eyes and took a sip of his whisky.

“Who give a flying shit about Francesca; she’s just a little girl with childish fantasies of love. All that’s important is stopping Ford from getting a new messiah, because if he does the world will end, and won’t ever be reborn.”

What Calvin was saying was right, but still it was hard to believe that Ford needs a messiah, why doesn’t he just use himself… unless… “Guys… I think Ford needs a messiah because he wants to sacrifice him or her.”

Almost everyone gasped. “Why do you think that?” Olive shrieked in horror.

“I was just thinking, if he needed someone to save the world and be the hero of the people why doesn’t he just use himself.” I explained.

Jason looked at me. I could feel that the gears in his head were starting to move (metaphor). “What would he need a sacrifice for?” He said to himself. “Maybe it’s like a satanic ritual or maybe… it can’t be.”

I looked at him dumbfounded. “What?” I asked in fear of what he was about to say. Jason was a pretty blunt, straightforward person, so, for him to stop his sentence right in the middle means that hell is about to break loose in our little city.

“How many people did that guy ask for?”

“At least 100, he said.” Lewis said from the top of his head.

“That’s the amount of people used to create a philosophers stone.” Pandora interjected. Her eyes were wide open. She was scared. Actually, she seemed more thrilled than scared. She wanted in on the action this time.

“S-so are we going to go there?” Olive sat beside Pandora and shook a bit. Unlike Pandora, Olive was genuinely scared, but I couldn’t lie to her about this situation.

“Yes. We all are. We need to stop him before our world sinks deeper into turmoil.” I slouched in the booth forgetting about Thayer who still held onto me and the two girls who were all over Lennox.

“We don’t know about you guy’s but were signing up.” The two blondes said as they caressed Lennox’s chest. Everyone but Lennox was in a daze because of what they had said. “Why would two hookers go and get themselves killed when they know they’re going to get killed?” Pandora freaked.

“We ain’t any hookers!” The girl on the left with dark brown eyes said to Pandora harshly. “We are just like you… ish.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, but instead of the girl replying to me, Lennox did. “What Anna-Beth means that she and Emma are fighting against Ford, but they aren’t part of the rebellion like us, they’re a couple of bounty hunters? Isn’t that right?”

This time Emma spoke. “Not to brag about it.” She smirked. “That Ford guy has a huge bounty on his head it’s about 50 billion euro’s, I don’t know who wants’ him but were suppose to bring him back to bring him to the center of panama city as soon as we have him, but to gain the bounty we have to get him alive.”

“So don’t go killin’ him.” Anna-Beth threatened.

Pandora elbowed me in the arm and whispered in my ear. “Am I the only one who didn’t see this coming.” I shook my head and said. “No damn way.”

Anna- Beth looked my way and smiled; not sweetly but bitterly. “When were in his lab, please act like you do not know us. We need to keep our images as whores so no one, not even Ford will suspect us as hunters.”

  Everyone nodded.

“So, how do we enter this thing?” Lewis asked.  I looked at him and sighed, “I guess we just, show up.”
