I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock making the loud ear bleeding beeping noise. I slammed my hand onto the alarm clock to turn it off. Succeeding, I got up knowing I had to get ready for school again. Today was Friday December 18. Tomorrow was the start of winter break. I got up and threw on a bright red jacket, orange shirt, grey pants, and red converses. After getting dressed I walked down from my room, the smell of cooked bacon reached my nose. I walked into the kitchen seeing a note

'Dear Glenn,
Your father and I were called into work early this morning. I left out some bacon and a muffin for you to eat before you leave for school. Have a good day Xoxo
-Mom & Dad'

After reading the note I ate the muffin and bacon that was left out for me. Before walking out the door I grabbed my backpack, swinging it over my shoulder and walking out the door. Later, at school, it was only half way though the day when the ground started shaking. My teacher was rushing all the kids to get under the desk and try to wait it out. It lasted more then a normal earthquake would. About 20 full minutes it lasted. When the shaking was finally over me and my classmates got up and looked around. Where there were large openings in the walls we saw police and military all going towards the same place. I was honestly scared
"What's going on out there?!" One of my classmates yelled at the teacher. The teacher was trying to calm everyone down, but I quietly snuck out from the opening to see a Giant hole in the ground. "What the...?!" I asked myself walking closer to it. Military were surrounding what ever there was over there. A tentacle like thing shot out from the ground grabbing one of the officers by the throat and started to slam him onto the ground over and over agin. My 13 year old self was terrified in what I was seeing. People were screaming and running everywhere. I ran as fast as I could. I looked behind me, buildings falling, people being vaporized into dust. By now I was covered in dust. I ran to my house slamming to door open to see my sister, Hazel standing there. She was around the age of 21 with drivers licenses. She ran towards me picking me up and shoving me into the car "Were going to our uncles" she muttered "What? But he lives all the way in Seattle! How are we going to get there avoiding these things?!" I yelled in protest "Were not that far! It an hour drive from here.. he'll be able to take care of us!" She yelled in a worried voice "...." I kept quiet waiting till we got out of this mess. I fell asleep trying to shake off the worried feeling, hoping this was just a dream.
