I had woken up a minutes later to see destruction everywhere. My sister had her eyes on the road, looking out for those unknown things. "Glenn? Are you awake?" I heard her worried voice from the driver seat. "Mhm" I muttered loud enough for her to hear me. "Good. I think we're half way there" she spoke in a focused tone with her eyes on the road. As soon as we arrived to the still standing home. Hazel told me to stay in the car and a few minutes she came out with my uncle. "Are you two ok?" He asked us "mhm..." I muttered in response and my sister nodded. He got into the drivers seat and my sister sat in the passengers seat. He drove off trying to get out of the current state thinking we'd be safer. I turned on the radio to the news and it seemed some stations still worked. Of course none near where we were worked. Rick (our uncle) Turned off the radio. "I think we should head to New York. It seems their more prepared and nothing has hit them yet." Hazel looked at him "but that's so far!" She yelled "I know but we have to get somewhere safer. We can stop by your Other Uncles house see if he's there. If not we can see if there's any food, etc." Hazel stayed quiet unsure about her uncles decision "Are you ok back there Glenn?" Rick asked. I nodded "mhm.. I'm fine Rick." I muttered. "Alright then. Lets get going." Rick spoke confidently.
