You know how your father wants you to stay a little girl forever and would want to shoot at any boy that talks to you? In this case, some fathers want their daughters to grow up.
How?
I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was eight. What happened?
This:
Me: I can't want until Christmas Eve! Santa is gonna show up and we are going to get presents!
Dad: Alright. Look. Santa is not even real. Sorry.
Me and brother: But he is!
Dad: Not.
Me and brother: How?!
Me: Why are you saying that, daddy? How is he not real?
Dad: You really want to know?
Me and brother: *nods*
Dad: One night, he fell off the chemny and he died.
Me and brother: 😭 NOOOOO!
Dad: 😧
Then, a week ago, which is pretty much literally 10 years later... I have younger siblings but we don't do that Santa Claus thing anymore. My parents say... Why lie to your kids? This conversation happened:
Me: So, daddy. You're telling them that you are Santa Claus?
Dad: Everyone has their own Santa Claus. That's their parents.
Me: Yeah. I know. But I still remember the messed up thing you told me on how Santa isn't real. But, if you're telling them that you are Santa Claus, are you saying you... what? Kicked Santa from the chemny?
Dad: Yep.
Me: 😧 Daddy! That's not even... You just messed up my 8 year old mind even more.
Mom: *laughs in distance*
Dad: 😏
