Chapter 1 - Silent Creek
This is my bedroom here at Silent Creek. Vivian sleeps in here as well but some nights when she gets in trouble they put her somewhere else, depending on what she did.
I wake up to the alarm going off and walk into the hall to start my hygiene. The first alarm means that our bathrooms have been unlocked. I also grab my clothes and head into a stall to get dressed.
Our bathroom is across the hall and it has two stalls and sinks for our room, 113. I start brushing my teeth and that's when I drop it in the sink after looking at my reflection.
I swore I saw blood in my mouth but after examining myself again there was nothing. I looked over and Elizabeth was standing there with toothbrush in her mouth, staring at me.
"What's wrong babe?" I tried to slow down my heart beat before I replied to her. "You scared me, that's all"
Elizabeth and I have been here for a long time. Our friendship is so close you'd think we're dating.
The alarm sounded again meaning that it was time to leave our section to join the rest of the community.
Our bedrooms, halls and even the bathrooms are monitored by camera. The only place that the Cameras cannot see is in the bathroom stall.
Staff are positioned at the doors of every section so that we can be transported to our daily scheduled program.
Staff are also there just in case they're needed to restrain and sedate us if needed. We're under constant 24 hour supervision.
I watched as my door began to close and lock as well as the bathroom. Our windows in the facility are drilled shut to prevent us from escaping and they're also bulletproof.
No matter how hard you hit them, fits, kicking, chairs, guns, there's no getting through them and even if you did, the ground might just be what kills you.
The alarms sound again as I start walking through the door that will lead me out of my section. The doors are set to automatically lock behind me. Staff follow me through the corridors dressed like they're a swat team.
They allow me to walk at my own pace but won't hesitate to tackle me if I go a different course than where I'm supposed to. Right now I'm supposed to be walking to the dining hall for breakfast..
Other patients walk through the corridors as well, with a staff assigned to each of them. Some are willingly walking and others are being forced, dragged or being guided because they're in straight jackets.
Some even have to be wheeled through the corridors strapped to dollies because of either self harm or harm to others. Even planning an escape can come with a punishment.
By the time it was dinner the sections were assigned to their cafeteria and was eating. Derek was part of the 9th section.
Elizabeth and I were already eating when he came to join us. I probably shouldn't have been watching him eat but I was.
He was cute and we always made plans to escape together on the down low. Elizabeth elbowed my side and I glared.
"Violet has a crush" she taunted over and over. I told her to cut it out before she gets a dart in the ass.
After cleaning off our trays and getting into a long debate on whether the institution was surrounded by a forest or just a lot of trees.
After following program the rest of the day and returning to my section for hygiene, I finally get to go to sleep.
