Vinni is in trouble. Not just because she's failing maths or playing second fiddle to a perfect younger sister or pretending not to miss her absent father, but also because she's just found out she's a bona fide witch, and someone has promised to kill her on her thirteenth birthday.
Her mother isn't talking, but other people are: apparently, it's not a coincidence she was enrolled in her school. Everywhere she turns, another door in the magical community is opened to her; her best friends are magical creatures, disguised as awkward preteens, but unfortunately, so are her enemies.
This was a very different story previously, and it was a story I wrote aged thirteen. It was out of character for me then, and reading it recently, I realised that for my own sake, I needed to change it. So this is the entirely rewritten version of Diary of a Witch in Hiding (also renamed), and I'm much, much happier with it. It's more mature, it's more consistent, and it's more me. Thank you to everyone who supported the first version; I hope you like this one just as much.
