Francois was not going to let this go. The next day he decided to invite me over to the farm. I could have said no after yesterday's episode but I love this man and want to prove to his family that I want to be with him.
Seems like nobody was expecting me because they were all so relaxed when I arrived. It all changed when Anette saw me. "You! Again."
Francois stopped her. "She is coming to see me,not you. I invited her over to see the farm."
"If she touches anything or hurts any of the-"
"Mom,she won't."
Anette grunted and let it go.Francois showed me around their farmhouse. It was big and really beautiful with so many rooms. Marita saw me and just walked passed me like I wasn't there. Marianne came out of her bedroom to greet me. Only when I was outside did I see Piet and Ryno. They were each riding a tractor when they saw me. I could see the anger on Ryno's red face.
Francois and I were at the pool when he had to run in to get us freshly squeezed orange juice.
Ryno saw me and came to me. "This is the Free State. Not your little fairytale in Gauteng. If you mess with anything of mine on the farm, I will get your family in trouble." He threatened.
I could not say anything,I was lost for words that a man can be so cruel.Marita came out to the pool for a swim with a guy who seemed to be her boyfriend or something. He was really skinny and sun burnt with black hair. I could tell he asked her who I was. She rolled her eyes and gave me a terrible look while talking to him and walking into the pool.
Francois finally returned "Don't mind them. He is just as bad as she is. Infact it's her fiancé,they are getting married quite soon."
"Wow, congratulations to them."
"Who knows maybe soon it will be us."
I looked at him in confusion and avoided the topic completely."Your father came to me,said some pretty hurtful things. Is he always like that?"
"My father is actually a nice man. I don't know why he is like this towards you. He has African friends who also have farms."
"But maybe Francois they aren't his friends. It's probably people he works with." I said.
"Well, they get along really well. For many years now. We should go into his library sometime and I will show you everything."
"Haha what a risk," I laughed.
