"Felicity...can't...breathe."
Seeming to relies that she was suffocating me she finally let go, but kept her hands on my shoulders.
"Sorry, sorry; I just can't believe your leaving."
I understand what she means. I've lived in Starling City my whole life, but I need to be in a new environment. Ever since dad died I haven't really been myself and I need a change in scenery, and there couldn't be a better choice then Central City.
I gave her a sad smile, and brought my hand up to give hers' a gentle squeeze.
"I know; I just needed a change, and staying in Starling isn't going to help. Besides Central City is only one train ride away."
She gave me a look, but finally caved," Fine, but you better call me everyday and if you can't, send me a text or something, but don't do nothing in reassuring me, okay."
" How about every week and I send you a pic of where ever I'm at ,at the time. Deal?"
Felicity puts on her thinking face, and for a second I thought she wouldn't agree, but finally after a minute she sticks out her hand responding with, " You have yourself a deal Ms.Cress."
With a relieved smile, I gave her hand a firm shake.
After that Felicity offers to help me pack and of course I agreed; there really wasn't a reason not to, and besides I could use a extra pair of hands. Anyways the sooner I'm done packing the faster I can get started heading to my new home.
...
Now at the train station ready to head off; Felicity pulls me into a tight hug and I return it full heartedly. I just couldn't believe that I was leaving this place behind. This city was the place where my dad taught me how to ride my first bike. This was where we would have our every Sunday dinner, but know we couldn't do that anymore. I wish I could have lived out my life here, but I can't. I need a new start and it couldn't be here.
Giving Felicity a finally squeeze we eventually pull apart. I could see she was holding back tears and I seemed to be in the same predicament.
" Felicity, I'm really going to miss you, and I promise that I'll visit when ever I can."
She looks down trying to hide the tear that seemed to have escaped. When she finally seemed to have controlled herself enough she looks back up to me and says," Cress, if you ever, and I mean ever, need any thing I want you to call me. I don't care how small or how big it is; I want to be the first person you call. We're practically sisters; no we are sisters, so I want you to call. Okay?"
Not being able to say anything without bursting into tears, I just nod. With one final hug I start walking to the entrance of the train, but as I'm reaching the doors I look back and catch Felicity's attention and give her one last wave, and I step into the train.
I take a seat some where in the middle of the train and I set my backpack down in the seat next to me, and I look out the window; not really thinking of anything in particular. I feel the train start to move and a thought instantly comes to mind.
' Maybe I might be able to do something that'll make a difference...something that'll help someone.'
With this thought in mind, I can't help but feel excitement stirring in my stomach. I whisper to myself " Central City, here I come. "
