Aaron's POV:

___________

Immediately, I sprint towards the pack house and shout to the guards, "It's the Alpha, don't worry!"

They relax and stand stiffly by the door again, allowing me to pass. Once I'm inside, I can hear harsh coughing and soft crying.

"Mom!" I yell, banging the door open so hard it fell of its hinges.

She's sitting on the large kind bed, wrapped in blankets and looking pale and bland.

"Oh, sweetheart, you broke the door," she says with a sigh. "Oh, well. Alice, please tell your father to get that fixed."

Alice, my sister, starts crying harder. "Why can't you tell him, Mom?" I ask, my voice cracking embarrassingly.

"Sweetheart, come here," she gestures for me to follow her to the large bed. "I have to tell you something."

I kneel beside her bed, brushing away a strand of dark hair from her sweaty forehead. "Yeah, Mom?"

"I'm dying, sweetheart. I've been sick for awhile now. I'm so, so sorry," she says, tears welling in her eyes. "I won't be able to see you graduate, I won't be able to see Alice get married, I won't get to love you two on Earth-----"

She breaks it off with huge, gut-wrenching sobs. They wrack her body, making her spindly arms and legs shake with anguish.

"Mom," I cry, a tear rolling down my face. My bottom lip trembles.

"You will always be my little boy. You and Alice are my world, and your father and you two kids mean so, so much to me. I will always, always love you, and I know that no matter what, you will be the greatest alpha this world has to see. Your mate, the Luna, will be kind and patient and beautiful. I can just see it. And when you two have the most perfect pups in the universe, just remember to tell them that their grandma is up in the sky, watching over them. Alice, your mate, Darren, will always love you, just like I do. I love both of you. Just remember----"

She never got to finish the sentence. She was dead.

I had no mother.

Iris's POV:

____________

I was driving home when suddenly, a huge burst of pain and agony ricocheted throughout my body. Sadness consumed me, making me want to cry and cry until I had no more tears.

I stopped the car and parked near an empty field. What the hell is wrong with me?

A searing pain erupted throughout my head, making me cry out and hit my head on the steering wheel. My vision became dizzy, but I could still feel the agony that racked my body.

"H--help," I murmured to no one, allowing the wave of darkness to overcome me.
