Lucy's POV:

I glanced at my phone, checking for a reply from Matt. I texted him almost forty minutes ago, and still no response. Which was weird for Matt, because he was always on his phone. He probably just fell asleep on the plane ride. He barely got any sleep last night; he didn't take off from my house until like twelve last night and he had to go home and pack after he left. He also stopped by my house early this morning to say goodbye to me before I left for school and he left for his flight. I quickly slipped my phone back into my bag and returned my attention to the teacher.
"Lucy? Could you please answer number three for us?" my algebra teacher questioned me.
"Uh," I squinted at the board, and tried to figure out the problem in my head. "B equals seven... and a half?"
He nodded, obviously realizing that I had just dodged a bullet.
I smiled, acting as if I knew the answer all along.
"Since you look so confident about these types of quadratic equations, why don't you explain to the class how you found your answer?" he challenged me.
But this bullet hit me.

"Lucy!"
I turned around to see Skylar heading towards me at a fast pace. Her curls were fiercely jumping against her floral blouse as she jogged (more stumbled) down the hallway towards me- and her skin tight jeans didn't help.
"What's up Sky?" I asked, continuing heading out the school's doors as she caught up to me.
She took a deep breath, obviously worn out from her little run, and started talking. "Well, you know Jacob Sawyer?" I nodded, and she continued. "Okay, well, he was supposed to throw a big party this Friday, with a hot tub and everything. But, he canceled! I'm like, so mad. I was going to wear my pink strapless dress, with the gem covered back. Remember that one? I wore it to Ali Pearson's New Year's Eve part last year. Plus, I even bought a new teal bikini for the hot tub!"
I laughed. Only Skylar would go out and buy a new bathing suit for one night in a cheap hot tub. But, I still didn't see why she was telling me all this. She knew I wasn't even planning on going to Jacob's party. Don't get me wrong, I love a good party (especially one with a hot tub), but I planned on having the night to myself to watch Netflix and order a pizza, since Matt was at MAGCON and my parents were away on a business trip. Most teens would go out past curfew and party if their mom and dad weren't home, but I got so used to having my parents gone on weekends that it wasn't a big deal. My dad is away nearly every weekend, and my mom often tags along.
"So, what exactly does this have to do with me?," I asked, turning towards Skylar.
She smirked. "I was thinking that we could have the party at your house."
I grimaced. "Sky..." I was really looking forward to being alone tonight. I had already picked out the movies I was going to watch tonight (Mean Girls, and The Notebook, duh), and I bought three packages of candy (Skittles, Kit-Kat's, and Twizzlers -my personal favorite).
"Please Luce? There would be no alcohol, only fifty people at the most, and almost everyone will be outside your house in the hot tub."
"Skylar, I don't even have a hot tub."
"Oh yeah... Well I was like, so sure that'd you'd be alright with the party at your crib tonight, that I took the hot tub that was supposed to be at Jacob's house, to your's."
"What?! How?" I exclaimed. Skylar had pulled some crazy stunts before, but this just made her insane.
"I dropped it off in my dad's truck last night. It's actually not that big, Lucy. I can't believe you didn't here me. That car is like a monster truck."
"Fine, Sky. I'm only doing this because I stained that Marc Jacobs skirt you let me borrow." I said, trying to hold back a snicker.
"You WHAT?"

Hey guys! So, there's chapter three. I tried to make this one a bit longer, but not really boring. I'm probably going to post the next chapter either tonight or tomorrow, so enjoy!
Some things about this chapter/book:
-Marc Jacobs is a very expensive brand, so that was why Skylar was a little upset at the end (not really upset, but kind of in a joking way) I hope you guys are loving the "bff" relationship between Lucy and Skylar because I am!
-When I put "Luce", I'm not making a mistake, It's just a nickname for Lucy. It's pronounced like loose.
-The next chapter will probably be Matt or Paige's POV (p.s.- Do you like Lucy or Paige better?) and then the chapter after that will most likely be about Lucy's party.
BYE :)
