Chapter 2
Yuuri's POV
I look to the comments-they were undeniably.... lukewarm? No one was telling me about how atrocious I am, but there were no overwhelmingly positive comments, either: only constructive criticism with compliments sprinkled in or a person with a snarky attitude, "I could've done better," or "...How did he get into the grand prix final anyway?" Those weren't too bad-it's only the truth. As the video became more popular, I became even more distant, reading the comments that never stopped flowing in and rewatching the video. While watching the video, I nit-picked everything wrong with the routine and thought to myself that quitting skating was for the better-there's no way I could compete with other skaters-especially my hero-Viktor Nikiforov. How did I ever think I could even skate on the same ice as him?! I slammed my fist against my desk, hurting my hand in the process and began to bawl.
Viktor's POV
Shortly after I arrived at Yu-Topia, Yuuri's Mother explained to me about his... situation. "He's always had emotional issues but lately he's been even worse after he had to quit skating. You see, skating is the only thing that has always been there for him. I've tried to be there all I could but after his Dad was gone, I had to take on a second job while managing the hot springs. Since Yuuko's kids uploaded that video, Yuuri hasn't really left his room. I'm not completely sure what he's doing but knowing him, he's probably just criticizing himself and over-thinking all the comments."
My mouth gaped, "But that video was up two weeks ago."
"Yeah... he only leaves to go to the bathroom, really. I've tried to get him to eat but it hasn't worked so far. I'm getting very concerned for him. Please, I know if anyone can help him, it's you."
I heard a loud thump coming from Yuuri's room.
"I will try."
Yuuri's POV
I heard footsteps coming from the hallway, I assumed it was my Mom and ignored it. My eyes were focused on a certain comment before I felt a hand on my shoulder. A thick, Russian accent filled the air, "Ah, kill yourself was always one of my favorites." I yelped, jumping five feet in the air. "WHAT THE F-"
Author's note: I'm sorry this update took so long (and it's not very long) but thank you for all of you guys that have waited! I'm going to try to update again tomorrow but if I don't: happy holidays! Also, I found an old dance costume that looks like Yurio's short program outfit so I think I'm going to create a routine on pointe to Agape. Thank you all for reading! (:
