Harry went back into the building, stood outside the elevator and waited.
He knew Liam would probably give him a lecture, but he was willing to put up with that.
He was still in a good mood from his encounter with that beautiful stranger.
"Harry?" A familiar voice asked, making Harry turn and look to see Louis standing next to him waiting for the elevator.
"Oh. Hi." Harry said stiffly, staring at him.
"What're you doing out here? Where'd you go?" Louis asked, frowning.
"To the park." Harry said, deciding not to lie.
"But didn't Liam-"
"He's here. I snuck out because he wouldn't let me go anywhere by myself." Harry said as they stepped into the elevator.
"Harry don't do that again. It's not safe. How'd you even get back?" Louis asked.
"I got a ride." Harry smirked.
"With a stranger?" Louis frowned. "You could've been kidnapped or something! Something much worse!"
"He wasn't a stranger. I knew his name." Harry defended himself.
"But did you know him?" Louis asked.
"Why does it matter? He was nice and I got back here in one piece. I'm old enough to go out on my own. I was tired of sitting in the apartment all the time." Harry complained.
Louis sighed, still not really feeling like Harry should be going out on his own. He chose not to express that though, because he didn't want to argue. "You're right. Just...please be careful, okay? I don't want you to get hurt. I care about you."
Harry frowned at him. "You barely know me."
"Harry please, I've known you since you were a kid." Louis scoffed.
"You care about my mom. You don't want her angry at you." Harry corrected him.
"No, I care about you. I don't want you to get hurt and I want you to be happy." Louis said, looking at him.
Happy?
"Whatever." Harry mumbled as they walked out of the elevator.
"Please don't get in stranger's cars anymore, or I'll have to drive you everywhere to ensure your safety." Louis told him.
"First of all, I'm not sure that your driving ensures my safety. You're a bit of a lead foot. Second, how would you drive me anywhere? You're gone all the time." Harry said as they walked.
Louis ignored Harry's comments about his driving, stopping and staring at him.
"I'm not gone all the time. I come home every day, and on the weekends."
"Yeah but you never stay. On weekdays I'm alone almost all day and on weekends you're gone until like two in the morning. Do you blame me for being bored?" Harry asked.
"What I'm hearing is, you wish I was around more. You miss me." Louis said, smiling a little.
Harry frowned. "I'm saying I wish I had more to do. I'm bored, Louis."
"But you wouldn't be if I was around." Louis smiled.
"I guess not, I don't know." Harry shrugged, feeling annoyed now.
"Aw, see, you don't hate me." Louis smiled, throwing an arm around Harry's shoulders.
"Why did you think I hated you?" Harry asked as they started walking again, the word hate standing out to him.
