"Mother?" Lucy took a peek at her parents room and saw Layla, combing her hair while wearing a white night dress.

As her mother turned her head and found her at the door, Layla smiled brightly for she was happy to see her daughter.

"Come here, Lucy." She said genuinely and her daughter obeyed.

"Mother, are you okay?" Lucy asked worriedly while Layla combs her daughter's hair now.

"Hm? Of course i am, why did you ask?" Layla answered with a soft voice.

"Father was very odd these past few days, he's worried about your foods- saying that it must be healthy and he was not leaving the manor now." Lucy said confusingly and Layla answered it with a smile.

"You're not happy about it? Your father is staying more longer than he shoupd be, we could spend more time with him?"

Lucy pouted with her mother's words and mumbled how she can't go play outside now like before and Layla could only laughed with that.

Layla hugged Lucy from behind a bit tightly and then look at her in the mirror.

"Lucy, you must treasure those days where you can spend some time with your love ones because we never knew what will going to happen on the next day." She said softly yet Layla only managed not to show how sad she is in front of her daughter knowing her body's condition.

Lucy stared at Layla too before smiling and nodding, she understands what her mother meant yet she felt something is different with her words.

With their little bonding, a sudden knock was interrupted it and it shows Jude.

"Father!" Lucy beamed before running and hugging her father's waist.

Instead of mentioning how unladylike his daughter's actions are like he used to do, he smiled warmly down at her and patted Lucy's head.

"Hey sweetie." He beamed back.

Layla couldn't be happy more as she watches her husband and daughter, she knew- even if she will be gone, everything will be alright.

But then, she cant stop but to feel sad while thinking about it- she's sick and the doctor said that her illness doesn't have a cure in their country, she needed to travel so they can find even 1% possibility of her recovery.

That's why she knew, she cant be cured.

Layla wants to stay where her family is rather than travel and leave Lucy alone in the manor for she's sure that Jude will want to be with her to look for cure that's not even exist.
