The Proposal

Masterful in every way

he grasped my hand with no delay

He brushed his lips against my palm

and said with gentle love filled charm

“You are the one who’s heart is mine

who's tender touch is so divine

Who makes me shiver, but not with fear.

Will you be my wife m'dear”

His eyes they twinkled in the sun,

a vast array of swirling fun.

His heart as soft as heaven above

which in my mind was filled with love.

“Yes” I cried, “I love you so!”

We danced around; our cheeks aglow.

The scene was great. Our hearts were singing.

Snow fell down so cold and stinging.

But still we sat there, rejoiced each other.

Both staring into the eyes of each others lover.

I'd never known of a love so fine

until the day that you became mine.
