In the ruins of Kanto was a rock that looks like a pokeball and inside it was a dark king's soul and he was mad that he hasn't been released since the boy called Ash grabbed his seal so he hatched a plan 2 release himself and get back 2 that boys body so he pushed on the seal a few time and the stone ball fell 2 the ground and cracked and the shadow mist came out of it and he said "I'm free mwhahahaha now 2 find that boy" and the dark mist disappears from the ruins 2 find its host. In kalos Ash has won the kalos league and is getting ready 2 face the elite 4. He goes outside and say "wow its a good night 2 get some air" but as soon as he said that the shadow mist appeared and entered Ash and Evil Ash says "it's good 2 be back now I will need someone 2 be my wife" he looks at Ash's memories and sees the girl named Serena and says "yes she will be the perfect wife I just need 2 make her evil" and he enters the room and goes 2 sleep.
