The story of an actress
~ Alefiyah Olia
Into the mirror,
She looked; awestruck.
To see a reflection she always fancied,
The mirror was the world and its people,
They were thoughtful as to think her perfect.Under that perfect supple skin there were scars,
Under that skin-tone foundation there were dried tears,
Her skinny physique was not a result of a healthy diet,
But of lossage in a once monstrous appetite,
Those big round eyes under the exorbitant eye makeup,
Had witnessed the burial of her true self. Her sorrowful soul masqueraded below,
A toothy smile and bright eyes pulled up a show above,She missed her carefree frizzy hair,
Having the innocent shades of brown,
That was replaced by slick and glam. Her bold identity struggled to be identified,
In an ocean of people,
It wished to standout,
But was held back by the clutches of virtuality,
Strangled and deluded by opinion,
Judged and remarked constantly. She had found a way to fit in,
But into where she never belonged. Thus was the story of her life,
And the death of an imperfect role model.
