Time passed by and by the time you knew it, it was the morning of Ciel's birthday, December 14th. Remember the plan, doing little things to show you were there for him? Yeah, everything went well until noon, when you saw Lizzy making way into the main hall. You didn't know how to face her so you simply avoided her and hoped she wouldn't see you. In just two hours the main hall was unrecognizable. Other than the flock of guests, there were floral arrangements everywhere, not to mention tables full of refreshments. So this is how a party looks like. You were amazed by every single detail. And just then you were spotted by Lizzy, who was.. holding hands with another man? You had no choice but to go to her.

"(y/n)! How good to see you!" she said energically.

"Hello, Lizzy." you smiled soflty.

"Do you like the party?"

"Yes, it's truly wonderful, but I thought Ciel didn't like celebrating his birthday." you were actually quite sure of it.

"Oh, he needs to relax once in a while."

"I'll.. go get us some drinks, Elizabeth." the male accompanying her suddenly said. When he was out of sight you mustered up the courage and asked.

"Who is he?"

"Haven't you heard? Ciel and I broke off the engagement. I still love him, but I love James more. His father owns a chocolate company. Speaking of which, why aren't you dressed up? You can't come to a party wearing your plain maid clothes!"

You were shocked. They broke it off? You felt the urge to jump and sing, but contained yourself. For once you did as Lizzy said and followed her upstairs to pick an attire for the celebration. After looking, touching and trying on what seemed like hundreds of dresses, you both agreed on one. It fit like a glove. It was a sleveless, blue dress, the top being corset like, tied with black lace and the bottom a bit puffed. Around the waist was a large ribbon, matching the dress tone exactly. You refused to have your hair tied up, but Lizzy didn't let you off the hook and curled it slightly (straightened if you have curly hair). You picked a pair of low-heeled black shoes, as the dress was long enough to cover them anyway.

"All that's left is a bit of make-up. Could you handle it? I'm sure poor James is worried out of his mind. I need to go back."

"Yes, of course. I got this." you said confidently.

With a loud thud the door closed leaving you in front of the oval mirror with a purse full of make-up by your side. After exploring it's content, you decided that a bit of mascara was all you needed, to bring out your eyelashes more. You would've put lipstick on, too, but you just hated the taste and smell of it so you abandoned the thought. When you went back to the party you turned a few heads. Okay, a lot of heads. Some of the guys asked you for a dance, but you politely refused everytime. It's not that you didn't want to, the guys were pretty handsome, but you had no idea how to dance and you weren't planning on making a fool out of yourself tonight. Quite a few hours passed and everyone was enjoying themselves. Well, almost everyone. You hadn't seen your master all day, but you could easily guess where he was hiding.

Hesitantly knocking on the door, the young earl responded with his usual 'Enter'. The sight in front of you was nothing out of the ordinary. He was sitting at his desk, doing paperwork wearing a grumpy expression on his tired face, with a cup of tea and a plate of.. cake by his side? That Sebastian. He ate some of it so he didn't despise absolutely everything that meant 'birthday'. His uncovered ocean blue eye now rested on your figure, his entire face gaining a new shade of red. It was quite visible, you could add. You simply chuckled at his reaction.

"(y/n)... That dress looks beautiful on you."

Oh my, a compliment from him? What a rare moment and what a rare sight to see him blush. And you knew it was because of you. Without Lizzy you weren't feeling bad about loving him anymore. You were still a maid, a no one in the vast society and overall, a demon. But just this once, was it possible that he could like a simple person. That thought was now stuck in your mind.

"Thank you." you said, making a small reverence.

"Do you have any urgent business?" he asked, not wanting to create any unnecessary silence.

"Not exactly. I was just wondering, don't you ever get sick of these four walls? I know I'd go insane if I'd sit here everyday." you were being honest.

"You could simply be claustrophobic." his lips were slightly curving upwards, but the smile wasn't visible.

"That too." you laughed.

He thought your laugh was lovely and it was a shame you didn't do it more often, but he was too stubborn to tell you that. Too stubborn to say out loud he was in love with you. No one ever stood up to him like you did. It wasn't your looks, but the confidence you had, how intelligent you were even without any kind of teachers. You being yourself. That made him fall for you. He suddenly stood up and his words surprised you most.

"May I have this dance?" he bowed, waiting for you to take his raised hand.

"But there's no music." yet you still put your hand in his, the other placed on his shoulders, while his rested on your waist. You were afraid you'd step on his foot, but thankfully that didn't happen. You simply waltzed to the imaginary music, skillfully led by Ciel. Who knew he could waltz like that? Without warning he stopped, your (e/c) hues meeting his single sapphire eye. You were mesmerized by his eyes. His hand stood on the back of your neck as the other was still securing your waist. Why? So that when he leaned in, you had nowhere to go.

His lips landed on yours and you instictively closed your eyes. It felt good. So good your other half awoke, but you didn't care, you had other things to worry about. The hand that was on your neck went up going through your silky locks. Yours were now around his neck, deepening the kiss. He bit your lower lip gently, asking for permission. Your lips parted slightly and the access was granted, his wet muscle exploring every inch you had to offer, earning constant moans from you. After some time, both of you pulled away, panting, desperately taking in the oxygen. You never knew a kiss could be this good. Maybe it was just him. Most likely. You still felt a tingle in your stomach, like butterflies were going insane inside.

"I never expected you to-" you started but he cut you off.

"Actions speak louder than words." he had a way with words that intrigued you.

"True, but I still feel the need to say it. I love you, Ciel." you confessed.

He was starstruck. He never felt like this before and the words just came out.

"I love you, too, (y/n)." and for once you actually saw him smiling and you knew it was genuine. He gently touched your fur-covered ear.

"You are beautiful." you've never heard those words before, not adressed to you. It was unbelievable how three words could make your knees so weak. You decided that you had enough oxygen and clashed your lips against his. It was shorter, but just as passionate.

All his life he had been surrounded by demons, but there was just one he couldn't come to hate. On the contrary. He loved you with all his heart. And you loved him just as much.
