There's a long chapter waiting....
---

I found my way back to the forest with no help from anyone else. It seemed that after we walked out of the grocery store we all pretended we didn't know each other and went on with our business. Which was not what I was expecting. I thought that maybe we stocked together and each of us have a cabin like a or phage but nope. They just left me alone.

I was hoping that one of the other werewolf hunters could help me get to my station or at least tell me what to do. I was already armed and I was told what side of the pack I was supposed to be at. Ugh. This is going to be a huge disaster, I could already tell.

I was finally at the south side of the pack, right around where I met Jason but a little farther away. I was at the border and I stared across.

I couldn't believe this was happening! They were all real! If only Dana could see me now. She wouldn't believe a thing. That thought made me laugh out loud. Then I felt the sadness get to me again. I missed her.

I guessed I'd try to set up camp here. I didn't have many supplies but I could make the most of my surroundings. I was in the forest, which was good. I might be able to find a big branch for cover or I could make a sort of cave.

I took a good look around. All I could see was trees and more trees. Then, as I kept walking, I saw a hole in the ground. It was just a small hole but it sparked a hope inside of me. Maybe I could try to do something with that.

I shifted my bag up higher on my shoulders to try to make me seem more cool and confident. I was kind of freaking out. How was this going to work? Was I on their territory? There was no way for me to tell. Uh oh, this wasn't good. All of these thoughts were flying in my head. I gulped.

The hole was decently sized. A fox or a small bear could've lived in there. I jumped inside of it. It went up to about my thigh. That was good. I sat down and realized that it could easily be around four feet wide both ways. Yes, now we're onto something, I thought. I climbed back out of the hole, wiping my hands on my pants to get rid of the dirt.

With hope now sparking inside of me, I started a search for some sticks or some big leaves, anything to help cover up the hole or try to make it look like one of those Indian tents and/or a bonfire. I didn't want to ruin it. I looked left and right and all around. To the left I saw a tree that had probably been struck by lightning as there were big black scorch marks on it. In the front all I could see were endless trees in every direction. To the right I saw a dead bush with a lot of brittle sticks around it, lying dead on the ground. I could use that for a fire.

I walked over and picked up some sticks off of the ground. I grimaced as one of the branches dug into my skin, making me bleed. I wiped away the blood and kept working. Then I made a pile of them on the ground near the tent and dug using my fingers, to make a sort of moat around the sticks to make sure the fire didn't get out of control.

I then walked over to the tree struck by lightning. It seemed to be starting to fall apart so it wouldn't be that hard to get a few good size branches off of it. I carefully walked over to the tree, dodging all of the dead branches. I started tugging at a branch on the tree. It came off suddenly, surprising me so that I almost fell over. Apparently this tree was weaker than I had thought. I pulled off a few more big branches with no trouble.

After I put those branches by the hole, I dug up some pine straw to add fuel to the fire. After doing all that I was kind of tired, so I decided to read my book, to hopefully learn more about werewolves. I sat down and I opened my bag. Then I took out my book and started to read.

Shifting Between Werewolf and Human Pg. 55
Werewolves, contrary to popular belief, do not shift only on the full moon. That is just a myth made by some unlucky guy that found out they were real. Most can shift whenever they want. There is one exception- the weak minded and low ranking wolves. Since shifting takes a massive amount of concentration, only the high ranking wolves can shift a lot. The high ranking ones are the Alphas (pg. 32), Betas (pg. 43), Deltas (pg. 16), and mostly anyone else except for the lowly Omegas (pg.12).
The full moon is important to werewolves, however. Whenever there is a full moon all werewolves are stronger and all of them are able to shift, even the Omegas. This is because werewolves can draw some power from the moon. Just like the other gods there is a Moon Goddess (pg. 57) that helps fuel their power and the Moon Goddess helps werewolves find their mates. This has been true for werewolves since ancient times.

The Moon Goddess Pg. 57
The Moon Goddess, also known as the Goddess of Werewolves, has been spoken of and was worshipped in ancient times, but not anymore except for the werewolves. Nobody believes in her anymore because nobody thinks werewolves are real anymore. In ancient times she created the moon and the werewolves that have been around ever since.
All werewolves worship and thank her for their powers. The werewolves worship every full moon when they howl to the moon. Even normal wolves or even some dogs howl at the moon because they know about their creator. Most humans just think that it's in a wolves natural to howl. Other supernatural creatures know that the Moon Goddess is real, but they don't worship her because they each have their own god or goddess to worship.
As long as a werewolf believes in her they will get power from the moon. If a werewolf does not believe in the Moon Goddess then they will slowly turn back into a human. Usually if a werewolf finds out that another werewolf does not believe then they kick them out of the pack to become rogues.

Other Gods and Goddesses
There are a lot of other Gods out there- some too deadly or dangerous to even speak their name. Here are the basics of the main gods or goddesses.
There's a Demon God, whose real name must not be spoken, that makes plain humans turn demon. When a human gets turned, they are no longer themselves. They become corrupted and evil. In the process, the human's eyes change color into either red or black. Black means that they are very powerful demon. Red means that the demon is weak and easy to take down. The Demon God uses the made human-demon as his host sometimes. He uses the host to cause pain and torture to the world. We don't know all the specifics about it tough, we do know the basics. You can only kill a demon by stabbing them in the heart with an iron knife that has their host's blood on it.
There's the Vampire Lord that was actually the very first vampire ever alive. He likes to be called Quinn the Ruler. Quinn is not his real name but, then again, no one knows his real name. He's the oldest vampire alive. He was born in 1452. With each year that has gone by makes him more powerful. That means he's the most powerful vampire alive. You can kill a vampire by cutting their head off or by lighting them in flames.
Then there's the Hybrid Goddess. Her name is Raven Soultaker. She's similar to a werewolf by how they change and shift into a hybrid. She was at first just a plain hybrid but then she helped save her race by sacrificing herself and the Moon Goddess changed her into a goddess to help protect her race even more.
There's also the Hellhound God. He simply doesn't have a name at all, just a title. Hades, the God of the underworld made him. There were too many souls escaping the underworld and he needed help but the Hellhound God escaped and started torturing humans. He made more and more servants to make other hellhounds to help him.
Then, of course, there's the Fairy Goddess. There have always been fairies all around us. They help humans who find them with wishes, like genies, and additionally help them from feeling down, and help protect the humans from creatures like the hellhounds.
Finally there's Guardian Angels. They don't have a leader or God because they decided to live in peace and harmony. They all work together to make decisions and they get to pick there own human to look after. They mostly keep all humans safe from harmful supernaturals.
These are just a few of the main ones. There's really plenty more but these are just examples. To find more try reading- Mythical Creatures: How They Came to be and Why.
