Bam! Bam! Bam!
"Wake up! Ya lazy bum!" A low voice yelled.
My eyes fluttered open and closed when the brightness was too much for them. I turned to face the other side to ignore it. I felt warm sheets under my hands and that made me open my eye completely.
I was in my room back home. Not Torchwood or a cold floor. Maybe the Doctor brought me back.
The loud pounding on the door continued.
"What?! I'm up! I'm up!" I yelled.
"Get ready for work!" the person yelled.
Work? Work?! What?!
I ran out the door faster than I thought I could ever go and stepped in front of the person before they left. It was my brother.
"Work? I have work?" I asked, panicking a little.
"Well, duh. You're twenty years old, almost twenty-one, and you have a job to go to and you currently aren't in UNI, so I guess you should get in that shower and get ready for work, or els you won't have a job." He crossed his arms.
"But-"
"And next time you wanna have a Doctor Who marathon, make sure you don't do it the night before work. And keep the volume low, you're not the only one that lives here." He pointed an accusing finger at me.
I thought about what he said. Doctor Who marathon?
I ran back to my room. It felt so home-y, but I felt like I didn't belong. My bed looked comfortable and it was all messy, but I didn't want to sleep in it anymore. My blue walls were covered in posters of my favorite bands, but it looked a little weird since the bands were heavy metal bands. This was my home, but I don't belong and I don't know if I feel sad or relieved about that.
Was this a dream or was this reality? I looked up at my TV and saw the Doctor Who logo on it.
I know it may seem stupid that I wanted to cry about it, but my life here isn't really a walk in the park. Sure my family has enough money, but money kinda isn't everything. My parents are annoyingly strict and judgmental. They kicked out my older sister for being a high school drop-out. My mother didn't let me out of the house except for work or school for getting a B on a Math test. I think you get the picture.
I sighed as I looked at the schedule on my wall. I had to go at 10:30 to get to work at 11:00 and the clock on my night stand says it's 9:43.
"Oh, snap!" I yelled. I ran to the bathroom, quickly removed my clothes and hurried into the shower
After a few minutes of furiously scrubbing, I got out of the shower and quickly dried myself off. I glanced at the clock and tried to move faster, it was 10:01.
I pulled at my jeans and hopped around until I tripped and fell on my face.
"What are you doing in there?" My brother asked through the door.
"Getting dressed!" I answered.
Once I finished putting my clothes on, I connected my hair dryer and straightening iron. I dried my hair quickly and started to straighten it.
When I was satisfied, I grabbed my make up bag and looked at the clock, 10:28. Looks like I'm putting my make up on in the car.
I grabbed my purse and shoves my feet into my shoes then ran out the room.
"Ready?" my brother asked.
"Ready," I said breathlessly.
My brother drove me to the mall while I quickly applied my make up. I zipped the bag shut as my brother pulled up in front of Hot Topic.
