The white tomcat padded around the edges of the forest, his best friend, a tortoiseshell she-cat, Spot, was with him. "Bone, you must have bees in your brain. This can't be a place for cats to live!" She flinched at the hoot of an owl. Bone laughed aloud, "Come on Spot! It's perfect!" He leapt onto a large rock. Bone's broad shoulders showed under his snowy pelt. His black-tipped tail twitched. He leapt down from the rock and padded around some more. "We'd be safe here." He turned to Spot, "Haven't your heard the legends of the old clans?" Spot was confused for ament before she nodded. "WolfClan, MistClan, and ThornClan. It's said they live in these forests. Maybe we could talk to them to see how clan life works!" Spot shook her head, "Bone, it's not a good idea and you know it!" But Bone's blue eyes blazed with dertmination, and when Bone was determined you know he'd would go through with it.

They had gotten another cat to go with them, Flame. He was an orange tabby tom with blue eyes. He was Bone's best friend, always up for an adventure. No cat knew where they were going, or if they'd even return.

Bone took the lead with his friends behind him. "Which clan do you want to meet?" Flame's blue eyes shone. "Any of them, as long as we find out more about clan life!" Bone replied, equally excited. Spot dragged herself along, "I still don't think this is a good idea." She muttered.

The friends had been traveling since Sunhigh. It was almost Sunset now. They were just a few paw-steps away from the forest now. "Come on!" Bone gave a jump of excitement. "We're so close! Almost there!" The cats began racing toward the trees. "Wait!" Spot called out, "What do we do if we meet them? We should stay here and continue in the morning." Flame and Bone agreed. The three cats lay down under the trees. Flame and Spot fell asleep almost instantly, while Bone couldn't. He stared up at the stars, his white pelt glowing in the soft moonlight. What are the clan cats doing now? Will they welcome us? He shivered. Or will they take us as prisoners? Worries spun in Bone's mind. He quietly stood up and shook out his pelt. Stop worrying. He told himself. It'll all be fine. But as Bone drifted off to sleep he somehow knew there'd be trouble the next day.

Bone awoke at dawn. He nudged his friends with a large black paw, "Come on! It's dawn!" Spot blinked the sleep from her eyes while Flame jumped right up. Bone's blue eyes gleamed as he looked once more at the forest. Today we find out the wonders of the forest and how clan life works. It was what Bone had always wanted to do, but somehow it no longer felt right. He shook his head to clear the thought and glanced back at his friends. They've come all this way with me, to find out about clans. I can't leave now. "You ready?" He called. The two cats nodded and together they bounded off into the unknown woods.

"Woah!" Flame breathed as he glanced at the surrounding trees. "They're so tall!" Bone nodded and padded on. Spot even looked excited at the thought of unfamiliar territory. Bone couldn't stop the worries from whirling in his head as he glanced around. The fur on his spine raised as he heard sounds in the distance. He flinched at the hoot of an owl and let out a small mew of alarm as a squirrel scurried past. "Now who's doubting himself?" Spot's green eyes blazed with humor. "You got me!" Bone laughed. But his laughter stopped as there was the sound of paws running over the leaves.

Bone whirled around to face the rustling leaves. He flicked his black-tipped tail to his friends, a signal for the them to go. But before they could turn a gray tomcat came out of the bushes. His gray pelt was fluffed up in anger and he was followed by two others, a nice-looking toetiseshell she-cat and and light brown tom. "What are you doing on WolfClan territory?" The first snarled. "Grayfur, they're young and rogues by the look of it." The she-cat put in. "Amberheart's right," the brown tomcat mewed. The gray tom turned to them and growled, "How do you know they aren't spies? Spying for the others so they can attack!" That's when Bone spoke. "We're just here to learn about clan life. Please, don't turn us away, we're not spies, I promise you." The gray tomcat, Grayfur, didn't look convinced as he turned to his companions. "It can't hurt to take them to Icestar." Amberheart mewed. The gray tom didn't look convinced but grunted, "Fine. But if you get in trouble I had nothing to do with it." Amberheart nodded and turned to the three cats. "You've come to the right place to learn about clan life. I'm Amberheart, you've already met Grayfur, and that's," she flicked her tail ro the light brown tom, "Mudheart." She purred, "We're cats of WolfClan. I'm sure Icestar will welcome you to look at our fine clan." Bone's blue eyes lit up and he sensed his friends excitement behind him. "Thank you." Was all he managed to say, "We're honored to be able to look at a great clan like WolfClan."
