*Ace's POV*

when the snow melts, what does it become? Think about it.....

spring! if you answered water, then you're wrong along with 99% of the world's population.

ah spring, my favorite time of year. the skies turn from grey to blue and the grass grows back, along with the flowers. the air no longer has its biting cold feeling, but is slightly warmer. and out of all the glorious aspects of spring, my favorite is the cherry trees.

the tree in the front of my school is beautiful, and a lot bigger than normal ones. and best of all, I have a front row view from my desk next to the window. everyday after school I go there to relax until I have to go home to make dinner.

I guess you can say I'm a pretty gentle guy. the girls love it but the football players make fun of me about it.

I don't really mind it though, I focus more on my studies so I can get into the college of Colorado.

"Mr. Williams, would you please repeat to the class what we were just discussing?" my science teacher Mrs. Chase asked, taking my attention away from the tree.

"why would I want to tell them about it if you just did?" I replied with a smirk.

"I see. well if that's how you want to be..." She said, gliding over to me and slapped a pink slip onto my desk. "Then you can waltz down to the office with that attitude. have fun with the principle! "

the entire class "oooohhhhh" 'd me as I grabbed my binder and bag, walking out of the classroom. as I said earlier I like to focus on my studies, but I do tend to be a smart ass about it.

I reached the office and handed the lady the slip, taking a seat in one of the chairs. She looked at it and sighed.

"really Ace? Again? What's up with this attitude of yours, this is the third time this week."

I merely shrugged. “I'm just telling them what I'm thinking, and I'm thinking; that they should stop asking stupid questions."

She chuckled and threw the paper in the trash. "You really are a bright boy, a little too bright for your own good I would say. but you're never going to get anywhere if you act like this! maybe you should get yourself a girlfriend who can straighten you up a bit."

"well, sorry to inform you, but I'm not interested in anybody at this school." I smile. I'm not going to tell her that I'm gay and don't even want a girlfriend, She would be too weirded out.

"Okay, well sit tight, my break started ten minutes ago and I'm going to the lounge. the principle will come to talk to you shortly." She said walking around the large desk and down the hall. well who am I going to talk to now? I really hope it's not Mr. Brown..

silence. it was so quiet I could hear a fly fart, a toilet flush off in the distance. minutes past and I became extremely bored, why can't someone just come along already and talk to me?!

No sooner than that thought could process, the school's front doors opened.

a boy stepped in and he was soaked. it must be raining out there. his light grey, almost white hair stuck to his head and his blue shirt -sleeves rolled up to the elbows- was plastered to his skin. he looked at me and walked over.

"um, it's this the office?" his smooth voice asked.

"nope. welcome to Narnia." I reply sarcastically, giving him a smile. he's really cute.. No... I can't have any distractions in my studying. I'm only gonna make him a friend....

"right. anyways I have to talk to the principle... Mr. Brown?" he said, pondering on the name.

"yeah I'm waiting for him too. here, sit." I gestured to the empty chair next to me. he nodded and tossed his backpack to the floor, taking a seat. he didn't say anything for a minute and started off to the opposite wall. he must be a pretty quiet guy. I better break the silence.

"so, uh... are you new here?"

he looked up, shaken out of his trance. "yeah, I just moved here from Idaho to live with my mom. "

"alright, welcome newbie! why did you move?" I asked curiously. the look on his face dropped to a sad one.

"w-well... Because...."

"Ace, why are you here again?" Mr. Brown interrupted. he stood in the door of his little 'interrogation room' , his round body barely fitting in the frame. he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and motioned for me to come inside.

I sighed and stood up, looking down at the boy.

"see ya later. and by the way, if it makes you uncomfortable to tell me, you don't have too." Then I slowly half-dragged myself into the room.
